I've met at least a couple of "top" providers (not in Boston) that are so protective of their 10s that they actually ask you not to write a review unless you're going to give them a 10/10. Most of the "10/10" women I've met are not too far away from what I'd call looks 8-9, service 9-10, so it's not too bad of a fiction. However, there are two or three times I've really felt burned.

There is one "top" provider for Boston that I've seen person and looks-wise is at best a 7 (even factoring in 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'). I also can't figure out how she manages to get 10s for service (no Greek, some other restrictions). Yet she seems to have a host of 10/10 ratings from reviewers who have enough reviews in place to be likely reputable. When we first met (and I had high expectations from the number of 10s she had), she probably saw right away in my face surprise and (although I tried to hide it) disappointment, so she told me right away that she preferred not to have any reviews. Good for her, as I would have called her face "nice-looking" (that's a 6) or maybe "attractive" (7) to be kind. As much as I would like to be honest, I didn't feel like generating any drama or hurting her business. Yet I feel a certain degree of irritation that she somehow continues to generate such high marks that I feel are misleading. Which makes me think that there is some additional way to game the system.  

I remember a Canadian review site that allowed others to vote on various characteristics of a review (you could rate it as having insufficient info to be useful, or could call a review out as an obvious shill/bullshit -- because of the numbers of voters, it was difficult for any single individual with a chip on his shoulder to defame a truly accurate review. Neither could a few shills greatly inflate an inaccurate review. . That meant you could figure out which reviews were most worth your time to read. I do miss that.
