I don't mind giving out my age, or even my astrological sign, but a DOB and a few other pieces of information can be a troubling combination.

If I have given referencs, home and work info, I'd want to know why the DOB.  If I didn't get a satisfactory response, I'd pass.

She may only wish to see men who are above (or below) a certain age.  I'm not sure if your DOB, combined with your real name is any more risky than just giving her your real name. I'm pretty sure I've never been asked for it...

It's one of the very few pieces of informatin hard to get a hold of online so it is very valuable for several purposes outside the hobby.  Not saying anything is wrong here - but would not suggest providing hard-to-acquire information. Nothing good can come of this

To be honest, at this point if a lady is not content with my TER whitelists, P411 OKs, Date-Check OKs, and/or provider references I just pass on. I've been bitten before by sharing personal info, and wouldn't want that to happen again. Now I know that most established ladies are trustworthy and you won't need to worry about it, but "nothing lasts forever, and we both know hearts can change".

Don't see any reason to provide such information.  With all of the other methods to screen the more the personal information out in the world the more concern. If it is about age just tell her you are over xx years old and leave it at that.  Do you mind sharing who is asking for it?
