I don't know exactly how much time.  I do know it is less than 4 hours.

Not only does it go away but also your "edited" post will not re-appear for quite some time. It's as though the edit button trigger the "moderated" mode for the post.

There were issues with posts that were approved later to be modified that would not have otherwise been approved.

Therefore, the TER Admins made a general change that ALL MODIFIED posts must be approved.

That goes for the MODS as well.

I can understand the rule (somewhat) but it is also easy enough to moderate someone that is currently unmoderated IF and WHEN their posts warrant it. Why make a general rule across the board that screws up even a simple change of date, spelling, etc. so that (especially with a "timely" post) the edited post doesn't re-appear for quite some time.
