My goal in life is to have fun, not die a virgin.

I have never seen this subject discussed on here.  Dabbling in the hobby for not that long, I was surprised to see that so many escorts and their johns have unprotected oral sex.  Is the risk of transmission really low for this?  I was more surprised to see that many will do rimming too... and anal... but especially rimming since it's unprotected.  I worry about HPV and Herpes.

Herpes would be the tough one, beyond an open sore it can be impossible to tell who may have it

As for HPV, I guarantee everyone on this board has been exposed to it.  In fact everyone in real life has been as well.  There are so many different strains, and most you can't even test for.  So don't worry about it.

On the other hand, way back when I had sex with civies, I got all kinds of STDs.

Tells you something, don't it?

Especially with their real handle?  I know a few hos (highly reviewed) that have herpes, and I will not see them if they paid me $1000 and I used 8 rubbers. Yes it happens.  Specific girls names with STDs can't be discussed on the boards per TER rules.

The facts are that HPV is often too small a virus to be fully stopped by latex condoms. So there is always a risk of carrying HPV for a period of time. And then passing it onto someone else if you don't use a condom. Some relationships break up over those unfortunate occurences.

Herpes is passed skin to skin with any abrasion at all.... So areas not covered by the condom are at risk. Thus the worst position for this is the woman being on top. Becuase if she had a recent outbreak, it will be in her vaginal fluid.

Additional, HPV-1 of a cold sore can be passed onto the genitalia. This results in a milder form of gential herpes... But herpes nonetheless.

Nothing comes without risks. The more you do the risks compound. So just be careful and if something seems questionable. Don't be a trooper. This goes for providers and hobbyists.

Yes I am in the medical field.

Sorry... Typo... HSV-1 is the cold sore virus...

Also to clarify, condoms reduce the risk of transmitting the Human Pappiloma Virus...  But it is least effective against it given it's relatively small structure...  So if you have a partner, a sig other,  having unprotected sex within a few days after visiting with someone else...  There is some risk of passing subclinical HPV from yourself to the woman you are dating.

What makes that...  tough...  Is as most of you know, some of the HPV strains do cause cervical cancer...  So there are very tense doctors visits ahead if monitoring is needed for your partner if she gets a concerning or HPV + Pap smear....  In addition to her obvious questions for you...  Not fun to think about. But it is the truth. And I rather you guys all know the facts/ risks as I do.

So just do the best you can...  All that anyone can do.

How do they test guys for HPV? I don't have any warts or anything but it seems so common that I was thinking of getting the test.

No, I'm NOT going to discuss the specific girls with herpes. (Can't on the boards anyway). If you are someone I KNOW & TRUST, I might be willing to discuss it back channel or in person

It can weigh on your mind and drive you crazy, wondering if you have something or not. But if you are are nervous about asking your doctor for a screening, or if you want to have it done without anyone knowing, you might think about starting out with this link below. It is one of the ones I use, myself. Better to know then not know.

ps. This is just one option. There are many clinics and health facilities available - I just happen to find this a simple way to go. Of course, should anything come back that needs attention, you would need to seek your Doctor's services.

There is no effective test for HPV for men becuase other than wart formation there are no clear long term problems....  Not all strains cause warts and most are believed to fade in men when a wart isn't present.

I short because there is no big condition to treat...  The research as it relates to men is relatively sparse.

The bottom line for men is that they should take some care if they are sleeping with a sig other with in a few days of being with someone else. Odds are small but it happens.
