Yes. It might be the same person, too. I finally was able to meet with her last month, and received repayment in a barter transaction. However, it took persistence on my part to make the arrangements. It was, in the end, worth it. I suggest you keep trying.
I do not want to name her yet, but a few months ago I received a frantic call from a known provider who desperately needed financial help. I was promised I would get it back in a matter of weeks, and of course now despite numerous attempts on my part she has never returned an email or phone call. PM me if you have a current similar situation, because I am guessing I am not alone with this person.
money good bye!!!
Sorry to hear this happened to you, but it is all to common IMHO. There is no such thing as a loan when it comes to hobbyist/provider.
Its to bad, because I am sure there are just a few who ruin it for the rest. I have found that it is best to keep the financial part very separate from any kind of friendship.
I do believe you would be in your rights to out this provider for such to protect anyone else from this happening to them.
Hell there are providers out there putting hobbyists on "National Blacklist" for a NCNS and they can do it anonymously, WTF is with that.
Moral of the story...DO NOT LOAN MONEY to a provider.
Do you really think she would of loaned it to you if circumstances were different? Don't think so.
Just my .02

Kiss the money good bye, As the girls will tell you "Time is money". How much time have you spend trying to get your money back? Just write it off as lesson learned.
As for what shyguy679 said, if it is the same girl that he loaned money to, it proves 2 fact.
1. She is not capable of handling her finances.
2. If you did loan her money, good chance is that she will be back to borrow more. Get ready for a great sob story.
Thanks for the advice, but I'm old enough to look out for myself.
stop thinking with your Dick!
Shes a stranger to you who lives...no scratch that...ACTS out your fantasy for an hour or a few hrs as it may be. You know nothing about her real life or who she really is.
You gave her a loan in good faith.
I have loaned money to friends and I hope they will honor our agreement BUT in my own mind I settle it as a gift in my head, so it doesn't bother me when I Never get it back.
If by some reason I DO get it back, Great!
Never loan what you can't afford to lose.
What you did was foolish, and I think it has no place here. You let the provider/client relationship Morph into something else. You are an adult and you now need to take this *lesson* and move on from here. Live and learn from it!!!!
Similar story for me - though I have been in touch and saw her since then. She didn't bring up the loan or offer extra time so I figured I might as well write it off as a gift.
Hopefully this thread is enough for her to decide to make good and serve as a caution to others and to her. I wouldn't name her because I didn't lose that much and it's not worth it to me to do something that could hurt her business.
This sounds familiar. I met a wonderful gentleman that had the same thing happen to him.
I am extremely upset when this nonsense happens and just as I told a lady or two that are not happy with me these days-the shit sounds like it has finally hit the fan.
When ladies to this it harms relationships between men and women in this hobby. From my perspective our interactions are based on mutual trust. A lady who is deceptive destroys those bonds of trust between others, therefore harming the entire community.
I recently had some words with a couple of uninvolved women who no doubt feel I am a busy body. I'm not; I'm just a smart business woman in the real world. As I told them, eventually this will come out and this moron lady will impact everyone. It happened before and it will happen again. (Continuously repeating the same..for those of you in the business world-Business 101)
It's always someone young and stupid broad that pulls this crap. Look at the media and the men who have been brought down by young bimbos (OK, not all young ladies are bimbos).
Those ladies that occasionally pull these stunts need to be immediately outed so others do not become a victim. And guys, DO NOT LEND MONEY TO WOMEN.
Hell, if you want to just throw your money away I could use help with my tuition payment! What kills me is that women that do this to men have no conscious. I have been offered help so many times by gentlemen of means, and never once have I taken a penny over my donation amount (unless they have tipped over the amount). This hobby is already a Godsend to so many of us that have been able to help educate our children, keep our homes and better ourselves, and there is no excuse for anyone to screw anyone else, except in the literal sense of course.
Very frustrating to hear there is at least one more victim.
Hope everyone is having a great week otherwise.
Off to classes thanks to those of you that have made this possible for me. (I love you!)
Hugs, Kate
Funny..happened to me about 2 or 3 years ago. I got a phone call from a provider I had seen many times. She was in Brazil at the time and needed money. So I wire her close to $1000 and she promises to repay me. Since then I've seen her many times. She never mentioned the money and neither did I. She's an awesome provider and I would hate to lose her over the money. I just smile and chalk it up to experience.
I'm not sure about the loan but I am a certified wallet inspector. Can you please mail me yours so that I can make sure everything is in order?
