This is one of those industries that does not follow the normal rules of supply and demand, so you can't predict trends using the normal models. Even as demand falls, prices stay the same or may even go higher.

The standard rate around Boston two decades ago was $150 per hour.

I would love donation prices to be reduced so I could hobby more. Does anyone forecast donation levels to be lower in 2013 than 2012? I've heard from a few gals that business is down. If  I scan the boards, I see a lot of competition among agencies (e.g., Flirt, NyxGG, Boston Int, Aphrodite, City Gals, Room Service, Ms Nina, After Dark, etc) and indies plus the couple of treasures you find occasionally on BP. I've even located some fine UTRs at very favorable rates. Do folks believe donations might come down to near the levels of RSG or will demand keep prices higher? I visit Toronto occasionally and I see first hand that competition plus more lenient laws dramatically lowers price and increases provider quality (just check out the gals at the multiple agencies that do business in Toronto). Any thoughts out there? I want to hobby more in Boston!!!!

I recently had a conversation with a long time client of mine who noticed that over the years prices have gone up in Boston.  He sees very upscale women and said that the normal rate for the type of woman he enjoyed seeing was $300 several years ago whereas now it has gone up to more the $400 range.  While it is different for every provider, I know that personally I base my rates more on my self value than I do on what the "norm" is.  I value myself and so my price is higher.  I also prefer to stay very low volume (quality over quantity) which is another reason why I price myself high.  Just as any other profession, provider rates have to take into consideration things like cost of living and expenses in any given area.  Cost of living and business expenses (i.e. hotel prices for incall locations) are higher in Boston than some areas which means that a woman has to charge more just to cover the basics.

You are absolutely right about Toronto and the idea that lax laws and competition affect rates, unfortunately I haven't heard anything about competition or laws changing in the Boston area.

One thing that may affect the hobby in Boston is the casino they are planning on building.  From my limited experience working in casino areas I have noticed casinos can bring a high influx of women meaning more competition and a lower price, but quality seems to decrease slightly as well and many "scam" women or women working with men to rob or harass hobbyists are attracted to the gambling population.

This is only my personal take, I would love to hear what others have to say on this subject!

Business is down but the cost of living, including travel and hotels, is not.   I don't expect girls to lower their rates much if at all.  Girls on the high end of the performance scale are still busy.  I anticipate prices to remain about the same, but quality of performance to improve as a result of increased competition for business.

Back before the recession a girl could get away with being lazy and stay busy simply because there was so much money flowing around.  Those days are over.

Toronto will always be lower cost and better performance, due to the difference in laws more than anything else.

Sometimes like a good wine or cigar you really feel the difference when you pay up, also there is dissapoinment when the meeting is average or below when you pay over your budget. I have been to both ends of the price spectrum. But this biz is really about connecting and I have had great luck with the $250 to $300 range on many occasions but really no matter what level its a ymmv for the most part  I wish I could afford some of this $500 and up gals but I don't really expect there is too much difference other than their financial requirements, much like buy art the intrinsic value is hard to judge...

....more women entering the biz as other options are not available- poor jobs market and etc means
more providers than in past- of course YMMV depending on individual characteristics and etc

I can't see prices going down ever. However like DT said, service will probably improve. If the market really gets flooded I would think expanded menus, longer distances traveled for outcalls, extended time discounts being offered and providing an overall date atmosphere that separates her from the rest will probably become the norm.

I think you may also see the middle market start to dissipate. The normal 300 to 400 provider maybe will try ro raise their rate to the higher bracket where there's money or the lower bracket where thre is population. Let's be serious and remember we're not all playing in the same pool. Typically speaking where you set your price is the market that you're looking to attract. For me I've set my price is very high, limiting my market. But I also heaven sure that I deal with clients that don't have to go over money they only care about quality. Some months that works out great other months not so much.
