Heeheehee, the lastest is an "attorney" who is complaining that I want to see his ID and bar card, which they have to carry at all times. He is not on the boards, ANY boards for that matter and doesn't realize "HEY! If I see that you are who you say you are, I am more comfy with you and we will have a better connection" DUH... I'm really beginning to think he is LE. PM me for his info. Maybe you guys can help me out on this one, we have been going back and forth email wise since I first started in Boston mid April. OR he could just be a total time waster. Either way I'm no idiot I am not going to see him. Thoughts?

Not the ones that are verified and are active on boards such as these, but the ones that send me random emails with models that they have seen years ago. No, means no. Not only are they not on the boards, but they can't accept that I take safety as my number one priority over $ anyday. When I send a model that is given to me as reference and they do not write back, it is not my concern from that point forward...either she is not in the business any longer, or just simply just doesn't give our references?
Please Boston guys, let me know your thoughts....

P.S. Just waled my toy chihuahua outside and it is SOOOOO NICE OUT!

HA no I did not "wale" my doggie I walked him... LOL.

Sounded like you were taking your frustrations out on the poor little pooch.

I think Provider references are tricky.  I have had providers tell me that they never heard back from some of my references in the past, but most of the time the provider had a second way of verifying me (Datecheck, TER Whitelist, Work Reference, etc).

I guess the point of the whole Whitelist feature is so that providers don't have to call each other for references., but unfortunately it doesn't always work like it should.

As a general rule for me, I always ask the provider if I can use her as a reference and I always email/text/call to let her know that another provider may be contacting her.

You're playing it safe, which is always wise.  Most people here know to do follow logical protocol, but for the unwashed masses who don't frequent these boards, simple logical and cordiality might be optimistic.

Good Luck JL!

I've been most successful with using Date-Check or the TER Whitelist.  Providers can get busy and their ability to answer calls or emails about references is not a priority.

Safety over money is the key to a keeping your sanity. Don't change the way you do things because a few guys try to push you beyond your comfort zone.  There ARE girls out there who will see anyone at anytime but that's their choice and, in my opinion, very risky given the current climate.

I never use a lady as a reference without checking with her first.  Randomly giving out the name of a gal that you saw months or years ago is usually going to result in an unanswered inquiry.

Hi Jordan,

I agree that your safety is the top priority.

I think TER while List is a good screening tool.  Also RS2K, or some other screening service, at least assures you a hobbyist is who he says he is.

Providers do not always respond to a request for a reference, especially if the guy has not called the provider ahead of time to let them know to expect a call.

Don't change your screening procedures.  It works for both parties.  I would not want to see a provider who does not care about screening.

Regards,

DJ

Thanks you guys for the support and advice! :)

How can you tell when an attorney is lying

answer below....

...whenever his lips are moving

You're are doing the right thing but refusing this guy if he can't make you comfortable with his credentials.  However, a little advice -- I would not share his identity or information with anyone else on the boards -- PM or otherwise.  We all get concerned about having secure and confidential identities and you should not have something in your history that could be construed bu some as a breach of confidentiality.  Hope this helps!

Don't see the guy, don't out the guy!
love, T

Hi Jordan,

If he is unwilling to provide sufficient information for your comfort level, then it is best to play safe and not see him.

If he has been trying to schedule with you since April, he could have spent the time more productively by enrolling with a screening service.  RS2K was my preference when I made the decision to sign up.  The application took a little longer than writing this message, and I was screened and approved very quickly.  If I recall correctly, I think the approval was done the same day, or maybe the very next day, and the process was very discreet.

I would strongly advise against sharing his info.  He may be a douche (a pretty safe bet since he is an attorney, lol), but his privacy is important too.

Hope this helps.

DJ
