I'm headed into the wilderness to get in touch with nature for a long weekend, and I am so excited!  Is it still camping if you bring a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a toaster?

You can bring those things and it is still camping *UNLESS* you have a power source for them! ;)

Power and running water...and those hot showers you need to put quarters in to use...:) It was so much fun!!!

The closest thing to a tent I want to see is the sheets when I'm excited! :-) I love camping and go as often as possible but I hook up the camper to the truck and take the comfort (and the conveniences) with me to the camp grounds (no TV though). Slogging through the mud, etc. in the middle of the night to get to the "public" toilets is not in my book anymore anymore than using a shower that was perhaps actually cleaned last Spring.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Those bathrooms are pretty nasty, not for the faint of heart!

I suppose if they run on batteries..it's camping.
Do you have anything that uses batteries???

Have fun...it will be a nice weekend

hehehe, yes but I didn't bring it with me...smiles. I had a blast, thanks for your well wishes! xoxox

As Confucious say, "He who goes camping with girlfriend, have peace on earth!"

Bring plenty of batteries even if you leave the flashlight at home.

"Roughing it" seems to take on a whole new meaning. After a lot of miles, and a couple of spinal surgeries, roughing it will eventually mean waiting more than 10 minutes for room service.

Have a great weekend.

Sleeping outside in a tent, and having it rain on you, and being wet and cold is not something I like.   Also the concept of having to walk a quarter mile to use the toilet, and either not having a shower, or it being cold and a half a mile away sucks.

OTOH, Waking up in the Ritz or Four Seasons, with Room Service delivering my breakfast, and a beautiful woman in the king size bed, now that is great!

But then there is NOTHING like the beauty of a sunrise(or sunset) while camping

You guys make me laugh!! Yes, the Four Seasons would be my first pick too...but those sunrises aren't bad either :-)
