GROTON, Conn. -- Groton police have arrested two men who they allege used a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for a lap dance at a strip club.
The two men were arrested on counterfeiting charges Saturday after a Groton police representative said that they used the bogus bill at a strip club on Route 12.
Jason Booker, 27, and 30-year-old Ronald Gannon also are accused of passing three more of the laser-printed bills in the club.
Police said that a manager at the bar thought the $20 bill felt strange and looked at it under an ultraviolet light that can determine if a bill is counterfeit. Police said that they think the pair may have passed counterfeit bills at other area bars and are continuing to investigate.
