Being in this crazy ever changing business for as long as I have, I have seen many changes in hobbyist's preferences.

Back in the day (the early 2000's) Everyone wanted the porn stars. When I had one working with us, there wasn't enough hours in the day for everyone who wanted to see them. Now I have Ginger Lee, Savannah and Brandi Minxx.  They are not doing nearly as good as they would have back 10 years ago. (Not that they are doing bad at all, they are just not booked solid, they usually have some down time mid day ).

The same is now going on with the older, mature girls. I was the only service who hired any one over 30. We were known for having the horny housewives and hot soccer mom MILFS. You hobbyists couldn't get enough of them. It was to a point that I didn't even bother hiring anyone under 30 because they couldn't compete with the wild MILF's  

Now the tide has done a complete 180. Porn stars and Milfs have gone out of style, the trend is now young, early 20's new to the business girls. It used to be girls with reviews were in high demand, now you guys want to see new to the business young girls with no reviews!

The same kind of trend is also happening with the girls ethnicity  I don't want to be politically incorrect or offend anyone so I won't go into detail. What I mean is a certain ethnic type of girl was in such high demand, we couldn't have enough of them, then the tide changed to a totally different ethnicity and the girls who were so popular before lost favor to the latest trend.

It makes me wonder what the next trend will be, could it be something like the latest in living dolls? What do think? should I get one or two just in case? (I always like to keep up with the hobbyists demands )

you're touching all the bases with variety. I wish I could sample all of your wares. It may be the proliferation of more Indys and more  traveling ladies. Some, it seems, are once in a lifetime opprtunity that may or may not live up to the billing.  

Back in the day, when I rolled in the hay ($$$) my habits were different. Being the compulsive person I am, and you would know, I might see someone that wasn't that much fun and then hit you up for something better the same day. I can't do that now ... or I would.  

I also think money I'd tighter in general and guys love the challenge of discovery over a sure thing. I prefer an guaranteed good time and I've gone as long as 5 years seeing someone almost exclusively.  

Now, I gave changed my m.o. a bit and have indilged myself with more variety and less frequency, except for a certain young lady at RSG ... my 2

One thing that reflects this change--or perhaps influences it?--is the "type" of pornstar that's popular. Sure, 10 years ago you had some young, GND type pornstars, but there was an emphasis on WOMEN, not girls, and often glammed-up. Now the pornsites seem to gravitate toward the young, fresh-faced new-commers. Lots of spinners and far less makeup or glam.

I think this trend will continue, with a lean toward the funky, bright colored hair and outfits that are almost costumes. Or maybe that's just my hope. (For the bright hair and costumes...doesn't matter as much if it's younger or older providers.)

Personally I like lean, toned, fit women. Age, race, and ethnicity are not important to me.  
Interesting story in the Times - go see the movie Ex Machina too.

I would think running an agency might be like making investments.  Have a diverse portfolio so that ups and downs in one segment do not define the entire value proposition.  Nothing wrong with having a niche, but one needs to assume the risk of a down trend.

I think the current trend is being driven by "Sugar Babies".  Generally they are younger, not full time, offer much longer dates (often 2-4 hrs) and typically at a rate that compares to a single agency/indy hour.  Many of the profiles will suggest large monthly stipends, but this is not the reality of what people are agreeing to.  These are also not exclusive arrangements so market factors are in play.

From the agency perspective, I don't know the next trend, but certain essential factors are key:  easy access, pre-booking, service quality/integrity, variety and affordability.  Becoming too exclusive, restricted or niche is a gamble.

Like I said, my 2 cents,

More than once with more than one agency, I've met a provider, was smitten and tried to pre-book the following morning upon leaving my appt. to be told no pre-booking. I've been a good client for a long time.  

To have to start over the following day and not be able to get through in time to make the appt for a time that works for me can be frustrating. Now if it's the ladies last day in town or if my schedule doesn't work due to the ladies personal life schedule (school, work, family ...) that's lost business.

Personally, I love the older gals, and I personally like them 45+.  30-somethings are still young in my book.  Also love porn stars -- when I can afford 'em.  Sexy Vanessa is the best of both worlds.  I also want to try Minka and Sydni Lane (though I think she uses a different name now and is out of the movie business).
