Seems to work out.

When you book an appointment, how many days in advance you confirm ?
I need to know a few days in advance that we are on.  It’s not cool to ghost or wait last minute. We all have lives, places to be , and plans to make.
Be courteous , keep in touch . I do and always will . I value my friends’s time .

If someone does a no-show or ghosts you, make them pay the full fee and if they don't pay up, ban them. Blacklist them. A year ago I read a tweet from Stefania Villa about how her business improved once she started banning bad clients, and I took that advice to heart. I spent years thinking I could help guide people out of shitty behaviors. I gave them so many second chances. I was wrong. These days I ban away--even clients I like as people--and I have more time for people who book often, don't haggle, and are punctual.

I don't have time for time wasters. But people I like, I'll move heaven and earth for them.

Agree. That’s unacceptable. That’s time you could’ve spent doing other things. Chin up my friend.

A man from TER who is white listed, had glowing references, filled out my booking form and everything completely and utterly ghosted. I tried to reach him on multiple platforms and crickets. And I know he's not dead or in a coma because he's been active on Twitter. If something came up or he decided I wasn't his cup of tea after all he should have had the decency and respect to cancel. I did notify his references and blacklisted him.

I had a scheduled meeting with a visiting provider. I made the date over two weeks out.  About a week before the appt.. I came down with  really bad case of poison ivy.
I got in touch with her & cancelled a week out. She wasn't even in town yet, but she had planned her trip based on scheduled appointments.. so, I sent her the full amount
She said she would give me a break on future visits.. but i didnt push it.. I never heard from her.. ..so maybe I was a dope.. but I really didnt want to leave her short with a planned trip.. fair is fair

What was the providers name.

That has no bearing on anything in this discussion.

I think you handed it appropriately.
You were upfront and gave her a reasonable amount of time to make alternate plans. Paying in full was a classy touch.

I screen as soon as I have interest to make sure there is not any problem.  I'm an easy screen with P411 okays.

I book last minute with a flexible schedule to take an open timeslot.
