He was a big mouth drunk, braggart and compulsive liar. He used to like to brag about being a special forces Vietnam vet, this was back in the late seventies early eighties. The problem was he would go running his mouth around other real Vietnam vets who would see right through his bullshit when put to the test, detail are a bitch when someone baits you by saying a battalion was in one place, knowing the whole time they were five hundred miles away from there at the time.  
   
 Long story short, some of these guys were fucking nuts and didn't take kindly to loud mouths who obviously never served running their mouths in the relative safety of a bar, Yes, he got his ass kicked more than just a couple of times, but he never learned to quit lying.  
   
 As for me, yes I served, but I have never nor do I ever plan on getting anything kind of discount for doing what almost all of us did back in those days. I am hardly a "war hero" and I'd be embarrassed to accept praise or rewards for things I never did.
