You can always walk away - a message to the ladies

On the Twin Cities board, a subject near and dear to my heart has been playing out:  Rough Treatment of Providers.  I post this excerpt as a reminder to both the ladies and hobbiests.

NetMichelle writes - Something has been brought to my attention and I am rather conflicted about it.  Bottom line, it is none of my business but then again it is my business. Fortunately, I have never been in this situation but it pains me that this has occured, and I must be vocal about it.

Word has gotten to me twice now that one of your hobbiests has been extremely rough with travelling providers. He will not listen to a woman saying no, and continues to be very rough during the session. He also has a lingerie fetish which the provider was not willing to partake in his fantasy. This is a well respected member of TER in your community.  I have concerns for two reasons: there is no mention of this in his numerous reviews, (only vanilla sex) secondly, his aggresive behavior is getting worse.

Providers: remember you can walk at any time you feel uncomfortable, regardless of who that individual is. If you do not, you might be the one who is not able to.

A public service reminder from Dingus15

Dingus, thus is a distressing post! Michelle, as anyone who reads these boards knows, is neither an alarmist nor a shrinking violet. So, for her to post this the matter must be taken seriously. Is there any way TER can deal with the individual, either privately or openly? When a provider does something egregiously inappropriate, it appears on the Board. Why not the same for guys? I realize that TER does not want to get into gratuitous hobbist bashing, but abusive treatment of providers is another issue entirely, especually when the problem occurs more than once and the info comes from a relible, trustworthy source. BTW, you are doing a fine job. Coming after Thirsty [no pun intended] was not easy.

on the hobbiest.....This is a sickness...the TC participants are dealing with this individual privately.

PS - I have alot to live up to with Thirsty as my predecesor...I'll give it my best.

Respectfully, I would add,

YOU SHOULD WALK AWAY THE MOMENT YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE!

In other words, trust your instincts. If it feels funny, make an excuse and leave. You will have other opportunities. It's not worth the risk.

thirsty

This is of course very true in all cases.  A woman's safety is MUCH more important in all cases compared to the money.

Of course men should also know that they can walk away too if something just "doesn't feel right" either.

Whoever this person is should be taken out behind the woodshed, and dealt with appropriately.  My Mama always taught me to respect women.

You are all right...  Under such situations, a woman CAN walk away and she SHOULD walk (or run!) away.  By the same token, a woman SHOULD always screen heavily and SHOULD avoid seeing any client who is unwilling to complete the screening process.

But I'll bet this is easier said than done...  She has the choice between staying and getting the fee, or leaving and foregoing the fee (leaving with the fee under these circumstances is so bad an option as to not be credible).

When business is slow...  when the rent is due...  when the car payment needs to be made...   when the kids need new clothes...  when the gas company is sending out its bills on that eye-catching pink paper...  I'll bet it's very hard to walk away and leave the fee (and an unhappy customer) behind...

It doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.  But I'll bet it's hard...  It's just one more reason why this is not the easiest way for a woman to make a living in this world...

Stay safe, ladies!

Sincerely, MG

Providers should be pro-active.  I believe that in the near future when this become a legitimate industry, the ladies should be protected.  Start with a guild (someone like Jill of R/S can initiate this), security or bodyguards, health cares, day cares for working moms, etc. should cover only a fraction of providers earnings, specially when there is a big membership.  An alarm should trigger the security people to take pictures of the 'rough' person so he won't be able to victimize again,...forever ban that a-hole.  Sharon Mitchell did it in the Porn Industry, why not one of you ladies or gentlemen.

For verification -- RS2000.  It's relatively big in the midwest, but virtually unknown elsewhere...

I think the illicit nature of the industry makes any organized effort very difficult.  I suspect most women would rather take a few small chances with safety rather than get involved with an organization that keeps records and might attract LE attention.  But that's just my guess...

I do know a very successful escort in Chicago who started an agency with high-minded ideals of providing health care, day care, etc.  The agency foundered...  I don't know whether it died because her noble goals ruined the underlying economics or because she was simply an incompetent manager...

Have fun, MG

This is NOT good. In my younger years as an escort working for agencies  [before the GFE BFE days] I suffered at the hands of many clients that thought of me as no more then a plastic blow up doll to do with what they will.I have learned over the years that the "Gift Donation" is NOT a ticket for a client to use your body in any way that he see's fit. I warn once and then I walk. And if he does not let me walk then he will suffer my anger....the dark side of the Angel. ;-)
