No Longer Around Boston...

I really should be doing some reading for my online classes, but it's hard to keep my mind off of the lovely ladies on TER and other issues as well.

I'm no longer in the Boston area anymore due to family issues with my mother being diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer last month.  Had to move back close to home and basically take over the family business while my father spends as much time as he can with her.  She's a trooper, but my concern is the chemo.

I don't mean to give you all my sob story for my sympathy; I've got plenty of family who's there for me.  I do want to however, get the point across that ladies and gents, especially those of us who are getting up in age, get screened as needed!  No matter how healthy you are, cancer strikes anybody.  My mother is a perfect example.  She goes for two power-walks a day totaling for about 5 miles a day, she's got a healthy diet, and before any of this came up, I seriously thought she'd grow older than 100!

So folks, just get screened for the appropriate cancers!  It can only help.

Anyways, rant over.

I'm still in the New England area and I do frequent the Boston area, so maybe, I'll come visit when the mind and body need a refresher.

Until then, take care all!  I'll be on and off (more off) TER.

Stay safe and happy hobbying.

and your entire family.

Ovarian cancer is very hard to catch early as the usual screening for women are for breast cancer and cervical cancer. They both can come back fine, but the ovaries ares still at risk.

This is what Gilda Radner had and lost her battle with.

Spend as much time with your mother as possible, and count your time with her as a blessing.

Cyber hugs from Steph...

I'm saddened to hear of your mother's illness;
I do hope that you can provide the stability and comfort that your parents currently need.
Thank you for the important reminder regarding screening for cancer as well.

You are a wonderful person and I sincerely wish you and yours the best.

Love,
Ally
