My, how times have changed

I remember days gone by when a phone call was all you needed to see any provider.  I remember some great times with G-22 (that ring a bell with anyone here?). I remember when you could tell pretty much what a provider was like by her ad.  When Eros photo's were verified.  There was a time when I was an active member of this board. But losing a job, moving to Cape Cod, (new nick - guyon_cape_cod, just using this because, just maybe, there might be someone here who remembers) then building my own business, has taken much time and effort.  I have dabbled but not much.

A while ago I started looking for quality providers only to find that I need one, sometimes two references from other quality providers.  Catch 22.  So, I'm reading the posts by newbies who are frustrated by by this turn of events and I can sympathize.  I can't even see ladies from an agency I used to use semi-regularly.  So here I am, looking at Craigslist and Cityvibe and trying to match them with reviews (I don't see anyone without a review, learned that early on!).

Well, so it goes, as time goes by, things change.  I just wanted to rant a bit.  I feel much better now.

...Don't think for a second that services or providers like it one bit either.

Trust me-
If I could answer the phone without the fear of an arrest, a rip-off or physical harm on the other end I would be swinging from the chandelier accepting every single new client ringing the line.  TER's aggressive foray into advertisement on multiple mediums including Howard Stern and Playboy has ensured that many new clients are looking and calling, but not necessarily researching and approaching in a reasonable fashion.
Today, in my inbox I experience SEVEN new clients indicating that they were brand new to the hobby.
Sending pictures, MySpace pages, detailing their divorce or relationship with their girlfriend-
this behavior for me, was previously unheard of yet it is now a daily occurrence.
One extreme to the other, the either think the hobby to be Match.com where it is the pleasure of the horny sex worker to talk to them all day and hold their hand as they enter the business (keyed up by their experiences with strippers, I suppose) OR they think that we're like the call girl they've seen on television: "for a good time call"- day or night & say whatever you'd like to say because she's definitely down and into it.
Their lack of research and observance of hobby etiquette is making it difficult for legitimate clients who seldom participate or new entries who actually have done their homework.
I suppose the more adventurous providers and services are quietly bankrolling the phenomenon.

Working feels more treacherous than it ever has  for me personally.  I find myself often feeling paralysis in terms of speaking to new callers or corresponding with would-be clients.  In addition to the onslaught of newbies there are those who understand that the business is rocky for many and are taking advantage with blatant impropriety, pushing boundaries farther than ever in terms of requests, randomly shortening donations (after establishing a relationship with the provider) etc.

As difficult as it is for you- it puts quite a damper on our business as well.
Trust me when I say:  if we suspect that we are dealing with a good would-be client, nothing more frustrating for us than saying no.

I am a doctor, a very decent Guy with no criminal record, and a very sane decent life.

Yet she called me tom, dick or Hare.

Yet it seems the concern is "safety and well being".

I wonder how can someone like me even remotely injure "safety and well-being" of these ladies/

Besides I am only looking for 1-2 ladies for long term partnership in Jill's catalog.

Its really trajic how I was rebuffed not once but several times.

I thought may be my persistence will melt her heart but alas.

Here is a poem I wrote last night:

O' Jill

Thou shall not melt

Despite my repeated overtures

O'Jill

Thou shall not open the door

to your temple divine

Pray tell me

Is that my fate

Or just your childish lullaby.---

I do admire her responsibilities and her passion for her job but her rejections are very painful. Lord, may you change her mind.

It looks like there are lots of places pulling up the ladder behind them and wildly increasing screening and the like. I can't blame them, really. I'm sure the girls don't want to be end up in the warm embrace of the law any more than we do, probably less so, since the guys walk. All those CL busts are having a chilling effect and even reputable, non-CL places are hearing footsteps.

TER's advertising has placed the whole underground economy in a spotlight that serves none of us, frankly. After all, once Al Capone got put on newsreels, he became a big target.

If you're a guy looking for an appointment, I don't know what the solution is to breaking in.

Yes, times have changed.  Back in the day, a provider didn't have to worry.  Believe me, I know you work hard for your money.  You have my respect.  As I said, times have changed.

I felt better after my rant, you??

Frankly, I've seen the other thread you’ve started on this topic and you just seem weird (e.g. to poem is a bit much). First you need to learn how to spell in English and drop the repeated comments about your being a doctor (e.g. in your other posts).  If I were Jill I would also refuse your business.  The “weird factor” makes the risk too great to deal with you.

My thoughts were not a rant.

I was demonstrating that providers empathize with you.

I will feel better when good providers and good clients find a resolution.

You are flippant and glib.

Interestingly, I am one who you could have swayed with sense and reason (I do allow relative anonymity for those who require it and can prove by their manner that they are worthwhile).

However, your lack of empathy and condescension are precisely why providers and other services are not going to give you the time of day.

-Good luck!

From my viewpoint the "solution to breaking in" is to simply be courteous and provide enough information to make ladies feel comfortable.

If I were a prospective client, I would not fill out forms from web sites, nor would I see a provider who doesn't verify.

The key to a great experience is communication in and out of the bedroom.  If I can't relax and feel comfortable about who I'm meeting-then I'm not interested in making a new friend.  I love meeting new friends, but I am not going to risk ending up in handcuffs or in a dumpster.

I don't understand why this is such a complicated and heated issue.

I guess it goes back to the Mars/Venus thing.

My rant was aimed at the times we are in now.  I certainly was NOT, in any way, criticizing the ladies for protecting themselves.  I am not a newbie, I've been around.  I understand that it doesn't matter if you write poetry, or are persistent, or been around. ITS THE TIMES, dammit!  What I said in my original post is true for the ladies also as so aptly ranted by Heartofgold.

My regular ladies are so busy it's hard to book unless it's a week or more in advance. Visiting providers are filling up weeks in advance.  Providers routinely say as much when economy threads pop up.

I'm happy that the ladies are doing well. I just get confused about the conflicting reports about economic impact on the hobby.

I routinely remain busy given my volume of reviews and active advertisement.
However, even I (along with MOST) notable providers have felt the impact of regular clients being a little bit more conservative.

The economy isn't affecting providers in such a way that we're going to drop our rates to $100 as hobby analysts suggests we should-

However, to believe that every provider is booked to capacity right now is foolish.

The specials across the board aren't occurring because providers are feeling generous.

Conflicting reports will always occur because we don't work in the same fashion.
Provider A may say "hi guys, I'm booked 3 weeks in advance" and Provider B may say "I have too much free time, time for a special!"- Provider A may accept 1 guest a day when Provider B may be accustomed to 5.
Your regular ladies may be lower volume and visiting providers routinely bullshit in order to hype their tour and/or pressure guests to book.

Coming from a high volume provider who could formerly expect dozens of calls in a day and bring several to fruition 7 days a week, business is certainly steady and still profitable BUT its certainly not the free-for-all it was a year ago.

Put it to you this way:
The bottom isn't falling out BUT why would any provider or service WANT to say no to any of the hundreds of new entries in the middle of a recession?

PS:
What I don't understand is how you (and many others) got lured into a debate about the hobby with an alias claiming to be a provider.  I find that odd that we are force fed information about the nature of the business by someone who has self elected herself as spokeswoman for the ladies.

And she gets so damned defensive too.  So where is that "heart of gold?"

Everyone who wants to be is aware of who this alias belongs to- my writing is characteristic and I have flipped the alias/signed my initials several times.

My previous message was one of empathy and shared observance with the original posters.  I did not disagree with the original poster and only shared dissenting comments/thoughts with the user HareKrishna (which was colored by my own wacky experience after he contacted me).
None of my comments warranted or deserved an "apology" - I was just sharing.

Any provider (or hobbyist for that matter) who feels that my thoughts are not representative of their experience is free to disagree, countering with their own thoughts (and they generally do, heartily- when they see fit).
I speak for no one but myself, honestly and at times flippantly.

I have no doubts as to who you are (and add that that "real" persona has nothing but respect from me) but I had to look up who was in the top 10 posters and then search and research further.  It took time, it's not that simple for the average TER user whether you think so or not.

What your alias strikes me as a means to simply put men in their place.  Sort of a white princess (as opposed to a white knight), it's tiring to me (yeah I'm only speaking for me, and I'm doing it under my real handle).  Please keep in mind, I have nothing but respect for ladies who provide, but I don't have respect for those with programs or schemes.  Your alias appears to have a program or scheme.  Not only that, your alias is contentious and gets bat tempered and cantankerous.  I've seen it defend itself to the last word (and you love getting the last word).

If you think posting under a well known alias is OK, I suggest you search back a few years (as this connects directly with NHGUY's original post) and look up Mr. Info.  He was a well known alias whom everyone knew his real handle and all he did was let his ego try to rule every TER board in existence.

OK, aliases have their place, they can be fun, they can be annoying, TER allows their use within their guidelines.  You have to decide whether I speak for myself or for many.  Let me give you advice that was given me on this board . . . . . . . . GIVE IT A REST.

This is not the first time that I have been told "be mindful of your manners", nor will it be the last in all likelihood.
I have myself encouraged other posters to be cognizant of their impact on the posting environment and I hope that you will accept that I believe in this tenet of positive participation.

I have received many notes regarding the posts that I have made under this alias and aside from the few modded aliases which are commentary on the name I chose for it I have not been made to understand negative perception of it.

I'm glad you can tolerate my alter ego but uh,
my alias and handle are ultimately one in the same and all reflections of how I feel about and in the business.  I am very sorry that my alias is seemingly a means to "put men in their place" (particularly considering that I have used the alias a number of times to refute bad behavior of providers and agencies alike, make comments on provider activity that is unbecoming, unprofessional and generally unacceptable and shared a great deal of personal experience for the use of others).
I find the "white princess" suggestion silly-I speak honestly from personal experience.  As I said previously a number of posters have heartily refuted my thoughts and opinions.
I assure you, I don't have a "program or scheme" (perhaps HookerWithAnAgendaUntold feels differently) and if I did I assure you I wouldn't run the program under an alias known by so many.

I think the handle is amusing, I am entertained by the concept and pop culture phenomenon of 'hookers with hearts of gold' and I am notoriously impetuous on the keys.

With all of that being said, I will consider the thoughts of others when posting using it, though admittedly, you've put quite a damper on my fun.

So much for the last word- I guess you will have it if the alias (on your computer screen which you choose to select with your mouse) is retired.
Hopefully a number of others feel an equal sense of relief and your thoughts and my having been "schooled" is not in vain.
If I do happen to use it again (once or a dozen times more) I'll be waiting upstairs for my whoopin'.

My previous comment in which I helped tar and feather another member out chagrin at a series of posts (which looking back, was a waste of the data posted it with) is now applicable to me too.

"If everyone says you're an asshole on a message board, you're probably an asshole"

How is that for karma for me BG57?

Take it easy~
