it's move in week for the city with the most college campuses in the US.  parents can't stay in the dorms!  lol  its always nuts the first two weeks of september in boston!

I'm an old Boston hand, but even I was dumfounded when i looked at hotel rates for Sept 11-16--
basic three stars going for $350?

Is something going on that week??

Please fill me in!

Just busy in Boston in Sept. I am sure something will turn up. See you soon.

theres a couple small conventions around that week and who knows when the parent teachers meetings when college starts around the same time usually sept & oct is very expensive

This has been the most expensive summer to book hotels that i can remember

Ta Ta Consultancy Services,

I wonder if they will help me find that perfect set of Ta Ta's

thanks!

I noticed this is becoming the new rate period out here... 250 - 400 ... when i first started touring here even a 4 to 5 star was under 200... Boston getting there too

The big convention halls are busy but so are the bigger downtown hotels. Mid September through October has gotten busier the last couple of years as the Boston area's economy has recovered a bit better than other parts of the country.

There has always been a shortage of rooms in the city but the rates you mentioned are definitely adventurous for 3 star properties!

You obviously were trying to book through BP of hotel listings  LOL
