Matrix Bust update

I saw the post last week that Matrix in Quincy was raided.  The story is on the front page of Tuesday night's Patriot Ledger.

That's not a good thing.  I know they kept files of their clients and I know my name was on it and is now in the hands of police.  I have not been there for about 2 years, so I am hoping that maybe it might have been purged by now, but who knows.  Anyone have any idea if I will have a problem?

I wouldn't worry too much.  You could get a call, but as far as I know, you were there for a legitimate massage.  They keep the list so that you get your 11th massage free.  Being a client doesn't mean you did anything wrong.  I've been there too.

They didn't arrest the three other therapists there at the time of the bust.  It does highlight the issue of giving out your personal information, but I'd be more worried if it were an independent SP or an agency because there's less chance you were a client for legitimate massage.  MM

I guess you are right.  I am probably just worrying about nothing.  I but I do agree that it does drive home the fact about giving out personal info to anyone.

I heard on the news on TV that the customer files had colored stickers on them, circles, that represented what "service" the customer had requested in the past.

Here are some comments from quotes from the article..

"Investigators spent ‘‘countless hours'' watching employees and customers enter and leave the business..."

How much money was wasted by the city on this investigation that could have been used for more useful things (like catching drug trafficers, child molesters, and other things like that)?

"Police raided the massage parlor last week, seizing a customer database, price lists, schedules and ‘‘various items associated with prostitution and sexual acts,...'' "

What might these be?  What items are associated with prostitution and sexual acts?  Maybe comdoms?

"During the search, a police officer acted as a receptionist and logged more than 30 phone calls and scheduled seven appointments."

I wonder if these appointments were actually done? :)

"Customers were interviewed by police as they arrived for their appointments, and all denied seeking sex for money. But some acknowledged that they heard it was available..."

Big mistake saying that you know it was available.  They should have said "Why no, I am here for a massage, my neck/back/legs/reasonablebodypart is hurting.

"A recorded message at the Matrix Health office yesterday said the massage center was closed due to electrical problems and should be open by the weekend"

Well, charges have been filed, that is sorta electrical in nature. :) :)
