To hobbyists and providers driving into Boston this weekend from the west....

The Mass Pike (I-90) will be closed or nearly so from the Alston tolls to the tunnels and all exits between same will be closed.

The fun started this afternoon when a cement truck overturned under the Prudential Center, but it had been previously scheduled to start tonight anyways.

Give yourself a lot of extra time if you are coming in for an appointment.  This started tonight and runs through the weekend.

Most of all drive safely

Do you know if it's in both directions?

Use Storrow Drive to get to the Mass Pike in Alston.  For now it's looking OK.

I am actually coming into Boston tomorrow do you think the mass pike will be okay to travel on then?

thanks

I went in today and took the Brighton exit onto Storrow Drive, and didn't have too much of a problem.  The only big delay was from the toll booth until I got onto Storrow, about 15 minutes lost.

Check on Google Map's Traffic view to see what it looks like when you approach those tolls.

And remember, you won't even be able to exit at Copley, so you'll at least have to get onto I-93 and go north or south before you can exit.

I am right off the pike. If the traffic gets bad and you want a break, come by for tea and some lov'n ;-)
