Loarthan vs Mystery Provider
After careful review of limited information available,
I will side with the lady in this matter. I'm sure she
had good reason to stand up Loarthan! After all he deserves
it!!!
I have followed this board for a little while now and have been following the recent thread regarding Loarthan really bothers me, so much so that I felt compelled to post.
In my opinion Loarthan has an obligation to post the ladies name. Especially since he has seen fit to post about the situation. If he never intended to post the name then this didn't belong on the board.
The moderator in my mind should have either encouraged the posting of the name or removed the initial post at the time it went up.
I think that Loarthan is now enjoying the attention he is getting by not revealing the name.
The one thing that remains a danger now is the wrong lady being hurt by this. If one were to try to figure this out, they would look for database reviews by this man. Then they might look for board posts about somebody in the area.
I would ask that Loarthan step up to the plate and share with everyone who wants to know the identity of the lady in question.

Haven't you seen such post on TBD, huboo? If Loarthan was looking for his "15 minutes," those of you who keep this topic alive gave it to him!
I already said that, if Lorathan posted the name, I would have edited the post or deleted it outright. Save the "piling on" tactics for the other board.

Ok Thirsty, now I will respond to you. Since you see this as venting and there being nothing more to this then I need to make a point to you.
This is a message board! The purpose of this board is to share information about our experiences and interactions in this hobby.
You have said to me here that if he put the name of the lady up, you would have removed it. So let's get real here, what is your agenda? If you really felt the lady in question shouldn't have her name posted on this board you never should have allowed this discussion, in other words Moderate the board.
You said to save the piling on for TBD, I guess the only piling on you can deal with is on your TV and called the NFL.
Tell me this, did you contact Loarthan and ask who this was so you could make sure her name wasn't posted? Got to bet you needed to know.
I cannot help now but ask what motivates you? You recently stated you were stepping down as Moderator of this board and then you post that you are remaining here in that capacity.
I certainly doubt that you have decided to stay because there was no one qualified or willing to do this job. I know from people that there were some who expressed an interest in the position.
My feeling is my "15 minutes of fame" comment struck too close to home for you.
I guess I'll just go back to that "other board"

This is exactly what Loarthan did. The fact that he chose to not share all information was his prerogative. What is the difference between this situation and the debate regarding submitting reviews? There was a time when many of the heavy hitters at the other board chose not to write reviews until the perks connected with a VIP membership made it worth your while.
I can only assume that, if Loarthan was looking for his "15 minutes" as you put it, he would have attempted to keep this thread alive at least via backchannel. You're familar with backchannel, I'm sure.

Why do I have to know her name to make sure that it’s not posted? To my knowledge, Loarthan is the only one who knows her name and he did not include it in his post. I couldn’t care less about the lady’s identity.

This is the text of my message to staff when I asked to be retained as Moderator.
If you haven't found anyone to take over the Boston and Newbie boards, I'd like to continue. I apologize for flip-flopping. I understand if you have found somebody else. However, I'd like the chance to continue what I started. Please let me know what you decide.
