The Boston Police have been cracking down on the streetwalkers in the Chinatown area for the last three years. Progressively each year has seen more and more law enforment activity.
This is due, in my opinion to the development of the Chinatown area. Millennium Plaza, One Lincoln Place, the new medical building on Harrison Ave, etc. The Chinese community, who have been extremely vocal on vice crimes in the area in the past. Having been tellingly silent about this attempt to push prostitution out of the zone, because they know that they are the next to go.
You will very seldom see a girl working in Chinatown proper. Most have moved south of Kneeland Street.
