top of other people's misery?  I don't recall many Boston members giving you a very hard time on your predictions.

I understand the desire to cheer for your favorite and celebrate your successful prediction, but to do it here right now when the curse on the Cubs and Red Sox live on is a bit too much, in my humble opinion.

I guess you and I are just 2 different kind of persons.

GC - just a bystander from LA who rooted for the Giants, not a Red Sox or Cubs fan.

Because i have all the right in the world to  my team won period the sox played a good game but they lost as usuall this time to poor management decissions

Most Baseball fans don't really hate the Yankees, its just moronic blabbermouth Yankee fans that nobody can stand.

The whole world, with the exception of Yankee fans, can see that deep pockets will put an all star team on the field everyday. But hey, baseball fans (minus Yankees idiots)can understand this concept and that money can buy many things in life, including baseball championships.

Cheering for your home team is great, even the Detroit Tigers have an allegiance of fans. But it's the taunting, jeering, holier than thou attitude demonstrated by many a Yankee fan that makes people want to run them over with an 18 Wheeler.

Yes- I am a Yankee fan.  I havent posted because I didnt feel it was the forum to do so...  I've absolutely bristled at Pvt Hogan's posts- the boasting just isnt my style but to each his own.

That being said I had to comment on the continued "excuse" made by Sox fans in this forum and elsewhere:  money.

Ok.  If the Sox had won there would have been minimum 25 teams in baseball that could make the claim that the Sox "bought" the WS.  The Sox spent over $110m on their team this year.  As the salary dollars you see reported for the luxury tax are based on average salary over the length of each players contract wait until the Sox have to pay Nomar, Varitek, Nixon (and not to mention Ortiz) their true market value and I can guarantee you that the Sox will be right there with the Yankees in spending... Or they wont pay and they will let their home grown players walk away which is something the Yankees have not done (ie: Jeter, Posada, Pettite, Bernie)....

I can admit I did (and do) think the Giambi signing was overkill and that certainly doesnt help my argument however this excuse that the Yanks are buying a AL championship discounts the season the Sox had and is lame at best considering the Sox spent plenty of $$ and will most likely continue to do so (Colon/Millwood anyone???).

The bottom line is many cities in baseball can make this claim but not Boston... sorry- you'll have to do with Stuart Little this year....

If Red Sox fans adopted a holier than thou our crap is roses attitude and jaunted, jeered, finger pointed and laughed out loud at the 25 teams the Sox out dueled this year, then one would be justified in saying the Sox bought what they had and every other insult you wanted to through out there. But the only team that's fan base chooses to behave like that is the Yankees.

It's the obnoxious Yankee fans that drive people to use rational like the money excuse, mainly because fans are sick of the fans blabbing away. Rather than being able to appreciate the success the Yankees have MLB fans grow to hate them because of how stupid and annoying their fans have become.
