... are many of the ladies increasing their rates this year? I know that "hobbying" isn't included in the Consumer Price Index, but it appears as though this community is experiencing its own example of "inflation."
The prices are going up because they have increased demand. They also have increased costs for transportation and food.
Simple solution cut back or down grade to lower cost providers. The other solution is to travel to areas (hint go south) where the hobby is saturated with providers. You can do a survey of prices posted on backpage to see where providers are having cut throat competition. Don't be surprised if you see some retire because they can't charge the prices they got a few years ago. One of my ATFs is quitting because she can't get more than $400/2 hours, she was getting $500/2 hours before the financial crisis.
I personally know about 3 guys who have downgraded and they are pretty happy. They are paying $100-$200/hour. One has gone back to see street walkers (not for me). He called me up bragging about seeing a street walker for $60/1 hour.
Just remember you get what you pay for but once in a while you get lucky.
You can take a break and save then when the prices go back down again have fun again.

More business women are entering the business. Tose women would have been content with carrers before, but see that by providing erotic services, they can make lots of money and start their own businesses, which some use their earnings to do. The business is fragmenting thanks to the internet. Used to be that a hobbyists called a lady with no idea of what would show up, the internet and escort review sites have reduced risks for providers and hobbyists. What this hobbyists expect to see is price levels forming with providers targeting specific customers. I love seeing ambitious, educated providers that plan to work the business for a short time on their way to other things, I am willing to pay the fees that they charge. For me sex is a total experience. Some hobbyists just like hot sex and lots of it without much regard to some characteristics that my type find appealing, those hobbyists will be better served at lower price points. The problem that exists today is that most providers either don't know how to target a market, or are targeting markets that they are not well suited to serve, those are the providers that don't make money or have to lower their prices to attract customers. My experience when hobbying near home is that if I don't book the type of lady that I prefer early, she gets booked solid by the time I get around to it, those ladies don't negotiate price or otherwise lower their prices.
There is a plentiful selection of quality (8-10, 8-10 ratings) girls at the $300 level. No need for me to pay more unless there is a girl with special skills/talents I am looking for.
I have been noticing it for the past 1-2 years myself. I have a couple of Indy travelers that "grandfather" my rates otherwise I would have to stop seeing them. Even ladies I have had an eye on have now moved out of my budget. (snooze loose)
I have been having a lot of great luck with RSG at a great rate! So the deals are out there just getting harder to find.
I have definitely noticed an increase in the number of gals in the $400 range as opposed to $250 to $300 which, in my observation at least, was the going rate for quite a few years. I'm not going to pay it but it's definitely the trend.
In the median price range that I'm talking about I honestly don't feel that there is a difference in quality or activity from lady to the next. A $400 an hour girl is not "better" than a $300 an hour girl, she just chooses to charge $400. I have no problem with that but I simply cross that lady of my list and keep looking.
I survived years of street walkers and CL/BP quickie "one and done" girls. I ain't goin' back there again!
I find better educated ladies that are closer to my social strata at the higher price range. I won't pay good money to just pay that money out, but an escort's ability to carry on a conversation is as important to me as her erotic skills.
I agree on the argument that sometimes price differentiation does lead to a different experience. A good example is Queeny and her girlfriend Velvet (who is a grad student at a N.East Ivy League University). While she and Queeny were priced at a premium price when they were doing doubles, the experience was over the top. A lot of that was due to Velvet's appeal as the sensuous Ivy League escort complimented by Queeny's wild child side.
I had a solo date with Velvet and it was a wonderful evening; nice dinner, great conversation, followed by a great romp.
While I would have liked to f--- Velvet's brains out but a bit impossible given here intelligence and pedigree. Alas, she has retired and unfortunately, Queeny will be leaving the profession shortly as well.

Either waste big money on fakes, or pay more than in the past for the real thing. The good change is that the internet is bringing abundant choices into the business.
on the other hand, the stripclubs are empty and your dollar goes a long way now a days!
this one is no acception.
Hotel bills are up, even though they are empty they are not cheap.
Gas prices are up as well and the girls are driving all over town to meet clients.
When the price of gas goes up so do groceries, services, restaurants the general cost of living all the way around increases. The Ladies do not live in a bubble, they are paying more for everyting as well. Trickle down economics trickles down to everyone!
This is a luxury for those who play here, its an added expense. If its difficult to play as often as you want to, play less.
To the Ladies though its feeding their kids paying thier bills. Its time to catch up and keep thier lives moving along with the inflation the rest of the world is dealing with. $200 doesn't go as far as it did even 6 months ago never mind a yr or two ago.
