A wee bit of a rant (and offer) here: So I follow a well-known bondage rigger/ top on Twitter. He worked for years at Kink.com (and Insex prior to that) and is a bondage rigger par excellence, a true artist. He left Kink and started his own site(s) but the quality went down markedly and he began to complain on Twitter that porn was a dying industry b/c people were getting it for free (read: stealing it) from places like PornHub. I don’t necessarily disagree and I was happy to shell out my cash monthly to Kink (and other sites) for the top-notch product they used to deliver (watch the Hogtied “Cabo: Day of the Dead” production to see the apex of the genre (IMO!) But then Kink got greedy (IMO) and made you join several sites to get comparable content. And the quality began to go way, way down. This rigger’s new sites frankly weren’t that great and I didn’t see the need to shell out cash for an inferior product when (to his point) I could get an equally inferior product for free. And then I found out what these sites were paying models: Honestly, I thought these ladies were making ten-times what they were getting (and in most cases should have been!)
Which brings me to my point: I’ve been lucky to meet several beautiful young ladies on this site who’ve let me indulge my bondage fantasies with them. I’m generally paying $1K / hour or so to hogtie, ballgag, nipple clamp, gently spank ladies infinitely more beautiful than what I’d seen on any BDSM sites in recent years. How could this be??? And if that was the case, why couldn’t I just make my own porn (and bypass the likes of these sites altogether?)
I met when of those “career-coaches” (whom I’m generally circumspect of) recently and he gave me this sage piece of advice: “Stop consuming. Start creating.” His point was, we spend so much time consuming the works of others (reading their books, watching their movies, eating their food and yes, watching their porn) when we could be using that time to create (and perfect) our own products that meet our own exacting standards. And personally growing in the process.
So who’s in? I live in the Boston-area and travel frequently to NYC and quite a few other places. I’d love to begin creating my own porn SOLEY for my own enjoyment with your help. It’s going to be a learning process but I’m looking fwd from seguing from Consumer to Creator.
