You have a retired cop call you out of the blue, whom you don't know with a warning.  Then you get a call to go to that area you where warned about from a so called potential client you never spoke to before. You inturn tell this someone about a call warning you not to go to that area, instead of politely turning it down.  Anybody else dizzy ?

    Why would you out the cop who called to warn you regarding the sting and once you got the call just politely not go and either keep the info to yourself and stay clear of Somerville or share the warning with the board leaving out who called........ I need a drink!!!

so i had a guy call few weeks go. sayin nhe is a retired homicide detective from medford and hates somerville vice cops. that they r settn up massive stings in somerville hotels. we chated back n forth he continued to call. then number shut off dont here from him again.    he said a warning to stay away from somerville hotels. i said ok ok. so now weeks kater i get call for outcall to somerville hotel...........which is odd. right.          when i say well guess what a retired detective called me at random sayn he haTES SOMERVILLE VICE COPS N THEY R SETN UP MAD STINGS TO BUST GIRLS IN SOMERVIL;LE HOTELS.  he sounded shocked. then when i refused the appt. obviously right. he did what i have heard they do- alot-----offered me more money to come anyway------i heard they do that. if u refuse n its a setup- theyl offer more. like they really wnt to pop u. thought this be interest to providers mainly-         so every one stay away from somerville sumthin weird is goin on-there-

it sounds like you dropped the dime on your informant. i doubt he would ever call you again afraid your telling the sommerville police what he heard he might be afraid they might figure out it is him.

You gave away entirely too much about how you got information on possible stings. Please do all of us a favor, if you get information from reliable sources that looks like it is right, don't say anything that may give away the source of the infomation. Unfortunately you learned late. There aren't THAT many retired detectives that have solid information on stings. The Somerville cops likely now know who gave you the information.

Maybe I am getting old, but I had a difficult time reading the original post.  This is a bulletin board and not a text conversation.  I had to read it a few times before fully understanding the message.

No offense, but complete sentences help us old folk who actually had to learn how to spell while in school, due to the fact that personal computers didn't exist at the time.
