I have never seen a provider before and am trying to get screened.  

Obviously, I don't have any references.  

I am willing to provide any information needed in order to be verified.  

Due to the requirements of my job, I can be verified on a licensing website (I have to pass a background check).  

I contacted an agency but was told, somewhat rudely, that without references I would not get accepted.  

I recently emailed a couple of highly reviewed providers and explained my situation and provided the information they asked for on their website. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response at all from either of them.  

I completely understand if they don't accept me because of no references but then the question is how does someone get started?

I have read other posts and one thing I saw is P411.  Is something like this where I have to start? Are there other options?

I want everyone to feel safe but I just don't know where to start.

Newbie here too, from what I've gathered, P411 is gonna be a good investment in the long run. But as of now, you might be lucky enough to stumble upon a newbie-friendly provider.

it probably is the best way. Maybe only. If you get desperate, you're chances of getting busted rise sharply. It depends on which head you choose to follow.  

Choosing someone without reviews or who is unknown by the community isn't exactly going to help very much either. Saying you know what to do (p411) and not doing it makes one wonder ... hmmmmmmm?

Just my two cents since you asked ... play safe, unless you want to be someone who's on TV or named in newspapers and online ... it's 15 minutes of fame you'll wish never happened. These are my final thoughts and response to the two of you.

Any of those are excellent verification services.  I think P411 is the most widely received, and they are in Canada, so no legal issues.
Get screened by them, they give you an ID and you are golden!!

I can give a provider my P411 number (or whatever they give me) and they accept that as my verification?

I then don't have to go through more screening, typically?

You should have started all of this on the Newbie ("FAQ for Newbies") board.  You should still go there for more info, newbie guide and the self help center.

Be careful about giving out too much personal info willy-nilly until you know you are dealing with a reputable screening agency (P411, Date-Check, others?) or reputable ladies who do not abuse or misuse your personal info.  

To a rough approximation, a well reviewed provider with at least several months (or years) of experience is in "this" as a business and does not want to kill the golden goose (or ganders, as gentlemen geese are called).  If they gain a reputation for using personal information improperly, their business will suffer if not end.

Regarding the absolute guarantee of P411, I think it depends on the provider.  If she does not use P411, you're still at square one and it's her call.  If she is on P411 it is her call to decide if she is comfortable enough to meet you or not.  Some are newbie friendly.  Other P411s require at least 1 or 2 or more prior approvals. (You are at zero.)

Jeesh man, just find a newbie friendly gal that strikes your fancy.  Not hard.  Look around.  Use TER or P411 to find the hundreds of providers who will see you with basic information.  We all started once.   To put YOUR first time fears to rest, seek a provider with many references.  Not one or two.  Dozens.  Then post a review.
