Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the New York Yankees Fan Club.  Due to an unprecedented volume of requests, we are currently processing only fan conversion registrations for Boston Red Sox fans.  Conversion requests from other teams will be accepted once all Red Sox requests are processed.  We expect this to take a number of weeks based on the current backlog of requests.

Hey Col, that was pretty good, confirms why I hate the Yankees tho. Do you think that if the Yankees lose to the Marlins that Steinbrenner will fire Torres and that he ends up as the manager here? Wasn't it in '49 when the Sox went into Yankee Stadium leading by one game with two games to play and they lost them both. Yes, Red Sox fans have a lot of memories, good thing I'm an optimist.However, I would rather be tortured than to sell out to the Yanks. It may not happen in my lifetime but hopefully during this century.

If you're suggesting that Steinbrenner would never fire Torre because Steinbrenner would be afraid that Torre would end up in Boston, I agree. Are you suggesting instead that Torre wouldn't want to come to Boston? Remember, the Sox were set to hire Joe Torre a few years ago but Joe Morgan's magic allowed him to keep the manager's job.

What i was refering to was, that stienbrenner would not fire Toree if the yankees lost the world series.

Col, don't you think that the Sox would love to stick it to Steinbrenner if they could? You bet your bippy they would. Didn't
"the boss" go all out to make sure Contrares (sp) wasn't signed by the Sox. The season would be somewhat saved for Boston if the Marlins brought down the "evil empire". Thank you Thirsty for your support.
