I agree with both of you.

I think that I have experienced three total
No Call / No Shows in three years.

A justifiable cancellation that rings true from someone I can be certain is genuine is not offensive.

Casual / tentative booking ("I will book now just in case and hope that I can make it") is highly offensive.

NC/NS is deserving of a curt reminder about courtesy through email, a "NC/NS" assignment on Date-Check or other verification profiles and an entry to DNS lists (which isn't even really detrimental to the client given how few providers screen and how many are willing to overlook NC/NS or other etiquette issues if he has other good references.  Like a bad review, most providers consider non-criminal DNS entries as client "YMMV" and subjective).

Most providers would not be interested in proving a point at the cost of her business by publicly listing clients who are not considerate.
That's what we have DNS lists for.
Alternatively, if a client wants to list inconsiderate providers or personal scenarios here that would be congruent with the purpose and intent of the website.

So in agreement with the other providers here in the thread,
Clients fire away, providers - count your teeth.

After reading the thread below, I suggest we ALL post, when a Provider or Hobbier, is an NCNS. Lets see how much this really happens.

Tony

The board will be ruined!
No kidding, I am serious. I have at least one every week and I am very low volume now.
Not to mention the guys who call 10 minutes before their app to say they are not coming.

are done in one continuous thread, that's gonna make for one long ass first page.

I would suggest that you don't as I suspect that the providers would have a longer list than your own.

I still say we do it, even it is initially long, no pun intended. It will act as a great deterrent if either party realizes they are gonna get a NCNS on the board.

Start naming names, and A) See how many followers you get, and B) See how many ladies you piss off.

You could have yourself a one man trainwreck.

Well providers have other avenues to inform each other about NCNS guys, as Ally mentioned (date-check, provider only boards etc...), most guys don't.

I think the general policy (for me anyway) for NCNS is to call/email and wait 24-48 hours for a response. If no response is given then I think posting NCNS info is fine. As we read in the earlier post the lady (or her booker) was able to respond and people can make up their minds as to what the story is.

Unfortunately NCNS is part of life in this world

OK, you guys all make good points, I initially thought it might be a good idea, but you have changed my mind. And I especially agree it would bring the board to a grinding halt. Thanks for the discussion Everyone.

tony.

See this is what sucks about providers having their own boards that hobbyists don't have access to. It isn't a two way street at all.

There are certain provider that have been called out on here that have a reputation for NCNS. (Raynah is a big one that comes to mind.) But the threads get taken down or you get the white knights coming in here causing a ruckus.

So what is our recourse? Give the provider a zero/zero rating and explain that they were a NCNS? They won't get approved and if they did it would cause a riot. Some providers have talked crap on private message boards because I dared to give them below an 8. (Not to mention I got harassed by white knights that didn't like my review.)

Maybe there should be a NCNS check box that you can leave instead of a rating?

There has to be some level where this information can be exchanged without it getting out of hand.

providing side of this coin, how THEIR time is so PARAMOUNT,then I feel compelled to share how MY time is abused. Sorry if you disagree. I think the trash needs to be taken OUT on both sides.
