I have reached out to him and asked him to participate on the Boston board.  He had been staying away out of respect to me (the new moderator).

I explained that I would welcome his participation and would not feel threatened by his presence on the board.

I hope he takes me at my word.  I believe we all miss his wit and wisdom.
