The past few threads with provider participation have been the puttering theme threads, the-one-provider show, and screening issues (which is particularly hot button in Boston right now given a few major issues that this market is grappling with including what appears to me to be a leaked Floridian agency client list).
Most of the regional boards are currently quiet. The economy, the clients and providers who TER has lost along the way due to system changes and censorship, the separate ad boards...
Anyone who has been around TER for longer than five minutes has watched these ebb and flows. This seems like an especially long ebb and who knows whether the regional boards will dry up entirely or experience another renaissance at some point.
Personally, this thread annoys me.
Its been open season on "shrill, unsexy, dramatic" Boston-local providers for the past year with no shortage of predictable re-run posts contributing to that impression. As someone who has always tried to post in a way that is smart/sexy/fun (a reflection of who I genuinely am as a woman and provider) its made me feel a little defeated and apathetic about posting with my handle for fear of contributing to that reputation even more. I wish that some ladies would have a little bit more collective pride for themselves and their peers in this market frankly.
There are rude outliers on each board who obviously need a prescriptions for SSRIs.
There are inter-regional trolls for whom the highlight of their day is apparently posting trashy mean-spirited comments on TER & pressing the refresh button to observe their handiwork.
Providers can contribute and should contribute in ways that allow us to be found by men who would love to toss around in the sheets with girls like us for a few hours...but if providers choose to post self-absorbed nonsense or prove themselves to be ignorant of how to work within their trade...they will experience abusive posts.
We've all endured at some time or another.
Its pretty simple.
I'd like to see fewer provider posts that scream "ME & MY ISSUES" and a little more straight up sexy around here and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. I think that provider participation has largely slowed because many of us don't know what to think or say in light of all of the craziness that has appeared recently and because some of us would rather carefully consider what we put out there and how we put it out there than just post stream-of-consciousness drivel.
Its short-sighted and it doesn't turn anyone on.
It appears that in most boards, posting is a positive thing to do. However, in the Boston board, posting fates one to abusive attacks by aliases.
Is Metro Boston an area where escorts are better seen and not heard? Is it a remnant of the British stiff upper lip? Are your providers allowed to be human?
AWH
And, I'm posting with an alias but I'd rather you didn't. No alias or no reply.
I think everyone should be heard, it is a community board and most participants are active members (hobbyist or providers) of it. I will have to agree, that lately a lot of bashing was going around under aliases, I guess there is more free time at hand, or people are pushing the limits under their aliases waiting for the train wreck to happen ( I guess it could provide them with cheap entertainment). The interesting point here is that sometimes you can’t prove your point no matter what valid reasoning you have because the other side is not interested or not listening, and I do not think it is a function of where you are whether you are in Boston or the metro area. But seldom visiting providers have the time to engage with the community board as much as locals and I think most of the local providers are in the metro area.
I have had the best experiences in the past 10 years or so from visiting and local providers in the metro and Boston areas. And almost all possessed the two B’s.. Beauty and Brains!! I’m surrounded by a lot of highly educated members of the community and I’ll have to admit I have met providers in the area that can run circles around them in intellect, inelegance and common sense.
So in summary, you are highly appreciated “Human” and your voice and opinion matters. But there are a lot of kids out there, and if they drag the argument to the gutter, it’s not a personal attack, it’s just they have nothing else to do, and you’re better off stepping aside, most arguments are won with a few words.

then you can expect everyone to react in a negative manner to you. Don't blame it on Boston, blame it on yourself. Maybe we should talk about glass houses.
There are a lot of Boston providers who know how to act and post like an adult, not like some drunken fool craving attention.
Signing your posts makes you look silly and telling everyone not to reply with an alias is even sillier, not to mention that you are using one yourself.
What planet did you come from?
Look at the number of Boston providers who have posted on the prior three pages. It is less than a dozen. Where are the 'a lot of Boston providers who know how to act and post like an adult'?
Thank you for proving my point. Rather than beginning a discussion, you decided to launch into attacks. You're even attacking the fact that I ended my post with a signature.
It is very sad that you're not clever enough to have a discussion. What planet are you from?

I don't reply to alias posts. This thread is a waste of space
Providers are encouraged to post an all boards by TER BUT the nature of a provider's posts, the frequency, the tone, the regional board climate- all of these things determine how a provider will be received.

FYI, you need to take some of the software off of the system that you are using.
How do you reply prior to my posts? It predates your posts as if you were in the twilight zone or Adams family. Its scary!
It is a shame that you only are capable of being a bitter chick on every board. I wish you could use your business sense for positive growth rather than tearing down as many providers as possible.
I won't engage in another catty provider fight with you today. I have to make my Ass walk out of here and get to work. Now playing LMFAO's 'Put that ass to work' and having a great morning! I'm sure you will have plenty of time to posts attacks of me today. Have fun!
Anyone else want to actually begin a discussion on this discussion board today?
AWH
They are called time stamps, no need to play the "scary" act.
I am not a provider, but you already knew that. If providers are being catty to you, I would again suggest that you look at yourself. Therein, you will find the problem.
PS: Listen to what Ally is saying. She's trying to help you.
