Gotta Love That Alias!

A few days ago, while having a cocktail/dinner at a hotel restaurant here in Boston that boasts a Michellin 1-star restaurant and upscale clientelle, I noticed what I think was a provider at the bar. Certainly comfortable and upscale herself, she drank her cocktail. She got involved in a conversation with a man who she clearly did not know in advance and 15 minutes later they left together. An hour or so later she was back at the bar chatting with another guy.

While it could have been ANYTHING, my friend told me he'd seen that happen before at this bar.

I was wondering, do some providers look for hobbyists at their incall locations for spontaneous meetings or is EVERYTHING arranged elsewhere? Obviously screening and safety is an issue if meeting in a bar, so I was wondering how that worked...

Yeah. I figured its dangerous, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen in some surprisingly upscale places. But you can never be SURE you've seen it happen unless you ask. And I'm not that type of guy. I guess my mind will continue to play the game of "wait. what just happened there." when I'm watching strangers interact across the bar.

I am generally not in favor of the use of an alias, but I have to say that your's is pretty funny!

That screening and safety are not an issue for any lady that would look for business in this manner...

That what you are witnessing is a lady who fully screens and verifies but prefers to meet her first-time clients at the hotel's bar before putting herself alone in a room with them.  It is also possible that the elevators require a key card which would also necessitate meeting downstairs.

Thanks. It's actually in reference to an old computer joke. "anonymous coward" is the anonymous username on old pre-blog BB services like Slashdot.
