while the probability of contracting anything other than oral gonnorhea or something like that is statistically low, there are ways to further lower it, such as not brushing your teeth for at least 1 hour before putting a coochie or penis in your mouth. brushing your teeth theoretically can scratch your gums and make them bleed, leaving an opening for viruses and bacteria. that's one reason you will always see altoids, gum, tictacs, and mouthwash in plain sight in my room. fresh breath with a lower chance for problems.
i've done a ton of reading about this and i used to be a nurse so i feel i'm pretty aware and 'in the know'.
the risk of the receiver is definitely lower than the risk of the giver. there is a ton of info out there. google it. make sure you're using reputable sources of info like the mayo clinic and such. there are a lot of tips.
really though, there just haven't been enough studies done to give true stats on hiv contraction via oral. i've read multiple conflicting studies.
also, regarding HPV, condom or no condom, that is highly contagious. it just takes skin to skin contact, not necessarily genital to genital, or mouth to genital. it can be thighs, butt cheeks, whatever. molluscum contagiosum, scabies and MRSA have the same degree of high risk. MRSA and MC can be treated. HPV, you're kinda stuck with that like herpes. scabies is treatable but hard to gid rid of and a real pain when it comes to treatment. MRSA and scabies can be transmitted by using a damp bath towel or cloth from a previous person.
scary huh?
