Interesting but do you really care to see the expense?

$6k+ is a lot of cash for some. I personally don't want to know my expenses or the # of times.

I know its there but don't need hard #'s to tell me.

Have fun as your keeping a detailed journal and it might come back to bite you in the arse.

I keep track as well, mostly because I want to keep it under control.  I see this as an exercise in risk management.  I've been able to limit my playdates to 5-6 per year (AMPs and independents), for a total of $800 to $850.

About 6 years ago I peaked at about $1750 in a year and that was when I was going only to strip clubs.  So when I got more involved, I knew I had to limit myself or risk serious trouble.  

Also the extended time between forays means that the anticipation is very powerful, and adds to the excitement of each encounter.  They tend to be explosive.

From 2002 to 2005 I was in Europe for work and while based in London and visiting Amsterdam and Frankfurt regularly, I kept a similar log.

Thankfully the dollar was very strong then, so I got some great stuff cheap as one of the furniture companies used to advertise. I also was on an expense account for food and travel expenses, and with some judicious offsets could afford more. That is why I have over a 100 TER reviews in that period plus like you a lot not reviewed due to lack of internet links to share for contact.

I had a column for pros and non-pros and was doing land grant business in both columns. My total three year spend was $8K GBP and $14K Euro. I shared the mongering spreadsheet with a few locals at a PunterNet meet and greet and found that my spend wasn't that outrageous for hobbying within that group. And as one fellow punter noted, his flying hobby had cost more per year and his wife didn't liek that hobby either

....although I have been seeing my ATF for 5 years now and hopefully for many, many more.  That is the only thing I keep track of.
