I just wanted to say hello to my fellow posters!

Hope all of the mothers had a wonderful Mother's day, and you single fathers as well!

I'm hanging in the Dedham area and was wondering where two things were.....1) a great funky bar, something hip and chic, 2) best sushi i can find?

Funky bar is going to be a little bit tricky in Dedham. Legacy Place has some decent places. Yard House has a bunch of different beers, decent food, and pretty cool atmosphere. Local places are as you would imagine in a smallish suburb of Boston. For sushi, the only place I have been to that is relatively close is Village Sushi in Roslindale. It is decent. Food is fresh.

Best sushi by far is Oishii Sushi Bar in Chestnut Hill.  It's probably 10 minutes further than Village Sushi, and across RT 9 from the Chestnut Hill Mall.

The chef who started it is ex-Nobu.  He also has a much fancier restaurant in Boston (Oishii Boston).
