Well, the hobby IS part of commercial sex trade. So is porn, stripping, camming and any sort of fetish or FBSM work.  Any endeavor that involves exchanging sexual services for money, paid directly or indirectly, is part of the commercial sex industry.

Now, not everyone who works in the commercial sex industry is trafficked. In my personal experiences, most women get involved in it willingly and know exactly what they are doing.  Still, human trafficking does exist and being aware of it is one way to keep from getting involved in it.

Today in Boston there is to be an event called "Fighting Trafficking Through Film". It seemes to be a combination of film and discussion, with "a cocktail party to honor survivors of commercial sex trade". at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts. More information appears to be promised at http://www.bitahrfilmforum.org. (Could someone tell me if there is a difference between the Hobby and "commercial sex"?)

I felt like this website provides a good basic understanding of the causation and some basis stats.  Hope this helps explain.
