I’m looking to expand my list of lingerie, perfume, body lotions and flowers with gifts more personal than gift cards. Any ideas would be appreciated. Happy holidays.

Seriously, it is. As with civvie life, look for clues. Is she a reader, has she mentioned something during idle chat? Does she have a pet? It doesn't have to be fancy - they don't (usually) shovel snow in Loobs and VS.
If you know a woman has a favorite store, get her a card for that.  Even a $50 card to Dunkies or Starbucks is appreciated. (God help you if you get a Dunkies Girl a Starbucks card, though!) I once knew a provider who would talk about her "Beloved Target", so that made a card easy.

For example, If she's a gourmet chef (or think she is, lol) cooking gadgets are nice.

Kitchen gadgets are a great idea. I love to cook so that would certainly make my day! Also, a beautiful peice of art is nice too!  A receipt to her favorite charity is a great gift idea. New sunglasses too!!
Jewelry is always a great choice as well.

They may squeal with delight when you give them perfume or chocolates, but what most ladies really want is something practical. You have to get to know her to find something personal that she will really like. It might seem impersonal, but you really can't go wrong with gift cards.
