Happy Monday!
In an effort to continue to improve my services, I am wondering if anybody had an opinion on credit card payments. Currently, I only accept cash, and it seems this is the case for most providers, but it isn't hard to set up a credit card processing mechanism so I am considering doing so.
It's traceable, if you take credit cards for you services, you will need to set up a company and have a Tax ID #.
You have to have the money transferred in a bank account with your real name and SS# attached to it.
Then Uncle Sam is going to want his cut of your money.
Also the guy can dispute the charge and you will have to fight with the CC company to get your money.
What if you get a stolen or bad card, now how do you turn to the guy and say your card is not good, you need to pay in cash.
Have fun with that one.
This is why they say Cash is King, and most ladies like cash!!
I use preloaded credit cards all the time. Not registered to me or my name. Buy them at CVS (or wherever). Load it up with $500 and spend away. If you need more, get two. Easy, atleast for me on the client side. I'd use it every single time.
The road to hell is a paper trail, after all.
Bad idea..read about clients in strip clubs realizing they shouldn't have had that much "fun" and claiming they were fraudulently overcharged. You have zero recourse if there is a claim made. I've written off $2000 this year from charge backs and it's not worth fighting over I've never won a dispute. The customer is always right. Plus it's technically money laundering or wire fraud or some bullshit legal way you won't get paid. Fuck the customers is fine ( mutually agreed upon) just make sure they don't fuck you back!
While I have yet to use a credit card for an appointment, I would definitely find it advantageous given the escalating costs of quality, reviewed providers. I used to think the $300 barrier was a splurge for an hour, now at least in the TER universe, it is the starting benchmark if you are lucky. I find I am using credit and debit cards for the majority of my daily transactions. It starts to look suspicious when pulling more than $300 out of a shared checking account on a single occasion (in addition to what you might already take out in a normal week) and who wants to be carrying around more cash than they need or squirreling away cash waiting for the chance to make an appointment.
My two caveats would obviously be 1) the provider would have to have an excellent reputation so I could trust the confidentiality of the information (and professional enough that I would be comfortable the data wouldn't be hacked) 2) the processing name on the bill would have to be vague, generic, or in some way very explainable in case it ever was seen by spouse (the upside of eBills is the statements aren't lying around the house waiting for someone to snoop into your transaction history).
In some parts of the world it seems like cash transaction are going the way of the Dodo bird.
stay safe out there

Try it. It could work some of the time. Best, J
That sort of paper trail seems like a recipe for disaster.
Assuming it's a provider I trust, I would likely visit a provider more often if she accepted electronic payments. It's often awkward for me to withdraw large amounts of money from my banking account and it would be much easier for me to just transfer electronically. While I don't know how comfortable I feel with giving CC info, I don't know why more providers don't use something like paypal.
Hi Quinn,
The PO board will give you tons of feedback on this topic. The ladies can give you many ideas, experiences and different options for set up if you so choose. A couple issues will be explained in detail there vs public (legal; banking; safety). Its amazing how many little details can really help you decide. The ladies will give you a laundry list of those details and what works or doesn't work and why. If you are not a member yet just write ter. Its honestly an invaluable wealth of info and the ladies are always so helpful. Believe me I have asked quite a few questions myself! Xo
If you set up a square acct ( that uses your iPhone) there are lots of restrictions on it. For example adult entertainment is not allowed. They can demand to see receipts from your business etc
Then again when Elliott Spitzer was arrested for prostitution along with the agency, the culprit was the large amount of cash transactions that caused law enforcement to investigate. When the agency was raided they had $1 million cash on hand. The same thing happened with Aphrodite Companions, when they got busted. They had reportly $1 million in cash in there house
is there such a thing as an identity and untraceable credit card?
