Radio news report said one week

$10 per ad instead of $5.   Every single one is screened by a CL staffer first (or so they say!)

Well I can tell you I posted 3 times and got rejected with even less info then some that have gone through. I am not sure what it is one must do to post. As much as people put down CL its the backbone for me, because I don't need to worry about my phone ringing all hours of the night, and can post only when I am working. Most sites you put an add up and its good all the time, and I am only available 2 or 3 weekdays a week because I do have another job, so I liked CL. :-(

Thank god for the AG's. Cleaning up this horrible filthy internet for all us good god fearing folk. Gimme an f-in break. This is like jackhammering away sidewalks to fight street walker hookers. It makes no sense. Are they gonna fight Backpage, Cityvibe, Eros, Ter, BD, Phoenix Online, and any other of the dozens of sites providers can still post on. How about threatening the damn yellow pages to remove the Escorts section.

Even if all those sites get shuttered, all it takes is a domain setup out a banana republic with the same backend to service the customers.

The need will still be there. Despite the tragedy that happened to Julissa, internet posting for solicitation, IMHO, is leagues safer for providers than other alternatives, i.e. streewalking, bar cruising, etc. The AG's are just pandering for their potential run for governer.

IMHO, this is just grandstanding. Some people might sell intimate services, but politicians routinely sell their *souls* to the highest bidder. The latter (politicians who sell out) poses a far greater risk to our social fabric and national wellbeing than a person selling an erotic service.

If the politicians *really* cared about this, I wouldn't be able to pull out the Boston yellow pages and go through 20+ pages of ads for escort services. This is just politicians trying to look like they are "doing something" when really they are doing nothing. Image over substance, as usual.

I'm glad, of course, that they are really doing nothing because one of these days I'd love to set up an appointment with the very lovely De'ja! (*grin*)

I couldn't have said better.  These politicians who talking all that shit about the site is an electronic pimp; give me a fucking break! They are a bunch of hypocrites to the 10th power; some of them are using the very same site looking sex. Don't you think they are plenty of Eliot Spitzer trying to please the public but deep down is all talk.

A man on T.V (being Interviewed) said it best.. "don't they have worse things on the internet than this?"

BINGO!!! Feel good legislation will be around for the same length of time as the advertising on CL - or any of the other available channels.

As I stated above.

There were good and bad about C/L.

From this providers p.o.v. there was just slightly more good then bad.

The time wasters and guys who did not want to be verified made it bad.
