We don't want to be tipping off LE or the hotels.

I think the Copley Square area would meet all of your criteria.   There are many hotels in the area from 3 to 5 stars, and it is very convenient for clients coming in from the west as there is an exit from the turnpike right there.

It also has lots of points of interest and shopping as well as good restaurants.

By this time of year, hotel prices will be down from their highs back a month ago in the leaf peeping season, but they are still higher than other places.

Parking is tight, but all the good hotels have ample valet parking.  What a few bucks more to make an experience more satisfying?

The second most popular place seems to be the airport where the hotels are nice and not too expensive either.  Not a lot to see or do there unless you like watching planes land and take off.

if you go there and do not leave the envelope you can explain it by stating you did not want her to join the 1%.  You are helping the cause.
