Is it just me or is any one else put off when they see it stated in a provider's profile that she swallows?  I never went to med school but I think it's common knowledge that consuming bodily fluids is extremely risky behavior.

I am assuming that you do not kiss, always have a cbj and never dine at the Y otherwise you wouldnt make a statement like that. Basically, bodily fluids in all those activities.  To each his own.  Personally I hate the taste of latex and I like the taste of a protein shake.

it's obvious that you never went to med school. if you had, you'd know that the composition of ejaculate is mostly carbohydrate, not protein. you'd also know that the number of cases of bloodborne disease like hiv or hepatitis PROVEN to be transmitted through oral sex is exactly zero. i grant you that the exact mechanism of transmission is often difficult to prove, with multiple risk factors being present. however, there have been a number of studies in the gay community, male and female, monogamous, one healthy partner and one infected partner, oral sex only, and once again, zero rate of transmission.

the government HAS to tell you that any body fluid exchange is risky. what do you think they are going to say: "ah, go ahead and do it. you'll probably be ok". CDC and NIH websites will tell you that unprotected anal and vaginal sex are risky. they'll show you pages and pages of charts and statistics about sharing drug needles. then they'll say that oral sex is also risky, but they won't present a shred of evidence. you know why? because there isn't any.

more people share Crystal's POV than you apparently realize. (They may feel that it's not "hobby PC" to admit it.) Believe me, when hobbyist see "she swallows" in the profile, most consider that a BIG plus.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would ever accept a CBJ!

Yes the hobby has risks. Maybe you should consider a spectator sport.

Clarence,

WHY DIDN'T YOU KEEP THAT FACT TO YOURSELF?

Did you even stop to think about how many of the ladies might be on low carb diets?

If the "Atkins" ladies change their rules, we have you to blame! ;)

...Unless you have cuts or ulcers.   Your body is really good at handling issues like this.  Your digestive system and your immune system do a good job at protecting you from such things.

Think about all the things you know babies and small children eat {without ill effects}.  If you eat out a lot, think about all the rat feces you have consumed in your lifetime {better yet, don't} :-}

Are other slang terms such as "baby batter" and "DNA slurpee" medically correct?  The composition of semen was discussed in high school biology but I slept through most of high school, hence my never making it to med school.  Sarcasm aside, I do appreciate your feedback.  Do those studies of oral sex that you mention specifically include swallowing the after product?  It still seems very risky to me and for now I will avoid those who are on high carbohydrate diets.

Syphillis, Gonnorhea and other STD's can be transmitted orally.

I don't want to hear about the stomach acid eating these germs and destroying them either. These STD's can and do survive in the mouth and throat.

Agree that HIV transmission is highly unlikely, but if other STD's are present, they ARE transmittable oraally. [ex herpes; gonorehea[sp?] There is a great informative program on the OXYGEN network called TALK SEX. Highly recommend it. The website is talksexwithSue.com

this topic comes up frequently and is always hotly debated. people on the "safety" side seem to get very angry at the mention of any form of unprotected sex.

my personal feeling is that if you've decided to have promiscuous sex, then you have decided to take a risk. THERE IS RISK IN SHARING ANY AND ALL BODY FLUIDS; there is risk in breathing the same air (did you know that tuberculosis was making a comeback in the united states?) so the "safety" people have decided that the only acceptable way to have promiscuous sex is to glove and gown up. i say, if i doesn't feel good, why do it? read "welcome to the monkey house" by kurt vonnegut... the solution is right there.

STD's like chlamydia, gonorrhea, etc can be easily treated with antibiotics. they aren't fun, can spread easily and quickly, and of course nobody wants them. but they really aren't dangerous, no worse than a bad cold or common infection, but somehow nasty and evil because they are sexually related. you can get chlamydia from oral sex - back of the throat contact with open tip of penis - swallowing does not affect the risk factor. gonorrhea is NOT commonly known to be transmitted through oral sex, but it CAN happen. HERPES can be transmitted by skin-to-skin contact. there MUST be lesions present for the disease to be transmitted, contrary to what some will tell you, but it's important to know that the lesions can be small, mild, and hard to detect.

i usually talk about bloodborne diseases, because they can kill you. HIV, hepatitis, syphillis.

1. highest risk for BBD is unprotected anal sex; thin lining to absorb fluids, prone to tearing. the receptive partner is at high risk, insertive at low risk.

2. unprotected vaginal sex, similar to anal, but the vaginal walls are stronger, less prone to tear. receptive partner still higher risk.

3. protected sex is next. condoms can tear, leak, and slip off. no condom is 100% certain to prevent transmission of fluid even if it does stay on and intact. if there are herpes lesions outside the area protected by the condom, then you are not protected.

4. uncovered oral sex is last. small risks of herpes and chlamydia. very small risk of gonorrhea. theoretically possible risk of bloodborne disease, but unproven. SWALLOWING IS NOT BELIEVED TO INCREASE RISK.

sorry for the long message. i could go on for days. i'm including a couple of the easier-to-read links:

Dear Friend,

I specially liked the part that says "people on the safety side seem to get very angry at the mention of any form of unprotected sex."

Sometimes when talking about things like that I use to mention that I ride a motorcycle without a helmet at high speeds, I sometimes practice pistol shooting in the dark, I rock climb, I skydive, I eat junk food, I drive rather dangerously...

So when someone suggests that I should take all the fun out of living in order to eliminate a very small risk in it I can't take it too seriously.

Just my 2 cents...

Clarence,

I can certainly vouch for your tasty protein shake.  However, I want to know how you know so much about Thirsty's though.  Is there something going on between you 2 that we should know about??
