END OF MESSAGE

It used to be an intermittent problem, but now it seems to happen all the time ... When I try to view Boston Asian Dolls website using TOR, I get "Problem loading page."

"(i) The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Tor Browser is permitted to access the Web.
[Try again]"

I can ping their site with no packet loss. The pages are there, the site is accessible, the pages are just not loading. Same problem with their Atlanta sister site.

ANYBODY HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH BAD's WEBSITE LOADING? Do you know of any solution?

THANK YOU.

(This is becoming a problem with other websites, too. They are not accessible using standard TOR settings. Cityvibe is 100% blocked. Some other sites have too many bells and whistles and un-safe crap that they do not load in TOR. Sometimes, it is not the "core" website but their reliance on a third party, e.g., a picture hosting site for their pictures, that blocks TOR or proxies: you get a webpage but no pictures. PLEASE KEEP YOUR WEBSITES TOR FRIENDLY!)

Some pages are not TOR friendly and they just won't load or are blocked at you mentioned.  I've tried adding https:// to the URL and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.  I am by no means an expert on using TOR or properly configuring it.  On my smartphone, some sites, like TER, don't work like they normally would.

So yea, I share in your frustration.

Did you try VPN, or perhaps self-written script that pulls info from website (including pictures)? Second option is probably hardcore, but if you know how to do it, that shouldn't be a problem.

But, given we are talking about BAD, I would say you rarely need a website, just call them, ask for options, schedule a date, and boom! They (almost) always deliver on their promises.

However, I agree that website isn't user-friendly.

why you're using TOR to access their site?

I know of it, that's about it. I don't know anything about the programming so I wouldn't trust it.

Your ISP can now sell your browsing history and activity.  So by using TOR, they are unable to see which sites you are going to. They can see you using it, but that's all they can see.

Just waiting to see exactly what each ISP is going to do regarding their privacy policy. Some have already stated they won't be selling that information.

I also switched email provider so that I my communication is secure from them.

Hope that helps.

Using TOR, my computer is protected from surfing trails: it doesn't keep cookies, it doesn't store anything salvagable in memory, it doesn't mess me up with a lot of unwanted stuff. TOR blocks a lot of crap designed to invade my privacy or with security defects that can compromise my privacy.  Eg., TOR blocks flash.

TOR hides my ID from my ISP.  With the new changes, that is very important. The ISP can't do anything with what it doesn't have ... other than that I am using TOR.

There a MANY legitimate reasons to use TOR, not just hobbying.  And the new ISP reporting rule change probably add even more!

One GREAT thing about TER, that I have not praised before, is that it is TOR compliant. TER uses simple code and protocols. They do not force bells and whistles down our browsers' throats. I rarely have trouble with security related (TOR non-compliant) problems with TER.

Every Provider should check her ads and adsites for TOR compatibility or have her webmaster or hosting company do the same.

TOR is simple, free and easy to download and use, whether for full time use or just for testing web pages. You should always get it from the official website, and not the copy-cat download sites, to avoid the possibility of hackers trying to provide a fake (compromised) TOR bundle.

However on my smartphone it does slow down the connection rate, eats up my battery and not all the websites work the same.

I also switched to Proton email. It's secure, encrypted and it's servers are located in Switzerland which has some of the strictest privacy laws anywhere. I no longer trust the other free email sites.

Right ... TOR is working the way it is supposed to work and if something doesn't work, e.g., the websites we want to view, it is NOT the fault of TOR. It is the fault of the website and it's coding that sets off a danger flag with TOR.

I use the Orbot version of TOR on my Android phone and also find that it drains the battery quickly. I don't know if that's a bug or if it needs lot of resources (and battery power) to do all the stuff it is supposed to do.

Borrowed from their website "Orfox is built from the same source code as Tor Browser (which is built upon Firefox), but with a few minor modifications to the privacy enhancing features to make them compatible with Firefox for Android and the Android operating system. Orfox REQUIRES Orbot app for Android to connect to the Tor network".

I'm still learning how to configure them to operate properly, I just haven't read the information sufficiently just yet.

Just a thought. If TOR blocks flash and our pages with pics need flash in order to run.... do you think maybe that is the reason? (Problem) I don't know much about it but, maybe? And a suggestion if you have an iPhone couldn't you turn on private browsing?  Maybe I'm wrong but, just suggesting

A while back I use to use TOR but,  it was always so slow for me.  So, I stopped no idea about webpages not loading. Hey, like our friend below said... just text or call us! Xoxo

But I want to see the pics of who is there!

SOMETIMES, like maybe 1-in-100 (I try to check BAD often!), your pages will load. I don't think it's a Flash issue only.

About TOR: it can be slower than a direct connection, but not with most TOR-compliant sites. It might be 5 milliseconds to load a site w/o TOR and 10 milliseconds when using TOR.

The REAL problem is with the sites that may load fast w/o TOR but have something in their code that slows things down to the point that I constantly get:

Problem Loading Page
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.

With the new policies allowed ISPs to use our browsing data, I think that more and more people will be switching to TOR and other VPNs.

Please ask your webmaster or web designer to check out your sites (Boston, Atlanta, DC) using TOR. And to check several different relays (some are faster and some are slower). If they get lucky with a fast relay on the first try, they might say, "No Problem. I'm done." but that will be wrong. Please check different relays, figure out the "Problem loading page" and fix it.
