Attempted sarcasm. Response to Mod. Luv's post.

Certainly not advocating that hobbyists post fake reviews.

Just recognizing the reality of TER.  Luv indicated that one option of getting VIP status is to post 2 "real and factual" reviews.  In truth, the reviews just have to be approved by the "powers that be".

Anyone reading the posted reviews know that there must be a few chimpanzees in the back room arbitrarily approving reviews.

PD

I get a message on my email account from TER that says I have a PM.  Now I know the NEW Rule is that I cannot post my email address, and I am not a VIP, so how do I find out who is trying to speak to me and what it might be about?

Buy a membership lol... If you can hobby you can afford VIP

your email address without any issues.

Or you can select an emissary to act as a go between.  Someone you have communicated with using your email address.

The emissary would have to be VIP to rec' PM on this Board.  The emissary could forward your PM to you via your email address.

Or you can ignore your accumulating PMS, or just pay for the VIP w/ $$, reviews, or perhaps problem reports.

Good luck.

I fail to understand how that would work...

If I were non-VIP, and asked another VIP to get my PM's, there is no way that he could do that, since when he logs into my account, he would not be VIP, and when he logs into his account, he would not get my messages.

I, of course, was not suggesting that said 3rd party retrieve his PMs.

I think it was obvious that that was not feasible even without you stating the obvious.

1) Write real factual reviews

2) Pay the $20 per month.  It is a small amount of money compared to the amount of money spent by most people in the "hobby" anyways.

if you submit a problem report for a providers profile, making a correction to that profile, you will get 2 days of VIP status, during which time you may check your PM's.

Amen.  Used to be you could get some help when I asked for it every year or two.  Even with a membership I issued a problem report and finally someone told me to contact customer service, then again I was told to issue another problem report.  I issed 3 sets of problem reports with no feedback or results.  So, I didn't renew when my membership ran out.

Penny wise, pound foolish.
