Another white list question

Here's a two part general question for the community:

 1. What is the point of the white list?
 2. What does the guy have to satisfy to get a white list referral from a provider?

I know what my answer to that is, however, since the community ultimately issues its currency, I need input to validate or refute my ideas.

I'm all ears. :)

1. "The TER White List is an easy way for providers to give positive references about members they have seen." - from TER Home Page
It's basically an "OK, I have seen him" the provider can give you and her referral will be attached to your handle.
Whenever you want to see a different provider you can let her know you are a "White Listed TER Member" and she may accept that as reference or she may ask you for more information.
Please keep in mind that having 10+ White Lists doesn't mean the lady will see you with the drop of a hat.

2. To earn a White List you have to visit a lady that is a member of TER, behave very well during your session (clean, nice etc) and then ask for the White List.
It's up to her if she will give it or not, but if she already gives white lists to other gentleman and you are a nice guy it shouldn't be a problem.

I hope this helps.

1. It is beneficial to screening.

In my personal experience, I have had 2 providers simply say the WL's were enough.

2. Just be a gentleman, clean, have a fat envelope, and leave when you are supposed to.

Of the whitelists I have, none were asked for.
I will not say that a lot of providers will simply accept the WL's as the only form of screening, but so far they have been beneficial.

So, I was correct in my "purpose" question, however here's an interesting, in my opinion, issue:  "I'll give you a whitelist if you give me a good review."  How about that?  So far, I've had providers give me the white list without issue, but, so far, one has said a favorable review from me is necessary for the WL.

I'm not really okay with that, I don't believe you should be able to buy your review after the fact with the WL as incentive...

White list help girls confirm that at least whoever whitelisted them thought the gent was respectful, legitimate and kind. It is not always accepted as the sole basis upon which a women determines a suitors eligibility, however, it really helps the guy in getting appointments overall. Just as we ladies need reviews to set your mind at ease anyt tool you can have to set our mind at ease can only benefit you.

As far as how do you get them I think all you have to do is see a legitimate TER registered and reviewed provider and if you treat her well and are a legit gentleman she can give you a whitelist referral. It basically just helps weed out who is safe (legit) and known for being gracious and safe.

Reviews for us= a known safe commodity for you
whitelists= a known safe client for us

"I gave you a review. Please give me a whitelist."

Even better, let us consider the power dynamics that go on in Whitelist requests. Gentleman John asks provider Susie for a whitelist after he has visited her. Now, provider Susie may or may not be completely comfortable giving John a whitelist (for whatever reason), but she does know that if she refuses, it could incite anger or argument ("What's wrong with me? Why don't I deserve a whitelist?) and/or he may choose to not see her again as a result. He may even choose to badmouth her via back channel. (As ludicrous as this sounds to any rational human being, you all know you've seen drama erupt from issues even more superficial than this topic.)

Sometimes I wonder if certain gentlemen think of whitelists as yet another form of competition and boasting.

Not only is this sort of drama soul-sucking and mental anguish inducing, it's needless. As many critical gents are quick and frequent to point out on the general board, reviews run the risk of being influenced by a power dynamic. By the same token, so do whitelists. Personally, I won't touch 'em. This is a review and discussion board run by hobbyists. If I want a list of provider ok's, I will check on your listing from a verification site, where they've already, you know, verified you (that thing TER doesn't do). Don't get me wrong, ladies are still subjected to a power dynamic whenever a gentleman requests a provider ok, but on some verification sites, Susie can qualify just how much she recommends John. Furthermore, since provider ok's aren't going to be quite so visible to every other hobbyist that visits a site (I don't know of too many men that give out their verification site profile to other hobbyists), the impetus to turn these references into social pissing contests just isn't present.

Hmmm, very Interesting...
Where does one find this "white list"?

In fact, the last WL I had received was a surprise.
No, I will not trade a review for a WL. I don't need to be put into that position. She "needs" reviews, I don't need the WL.

An extremely interesting thread.....

Purpose of a white list? Simple; Safety and Compatability. Both parties are assuming some risk, so it has to be a shared assumption. Hobbyist must respect the providers boundries, and the the provider must respect the hobbyist privacy.

I prefer establishing a professional elationssip with a provider, the 2nd and 3rd visit is always more pleasant than the first.

Men should be clean, have good hygeine and be respectful. Don't haggle over $, don't make the provider feel like a piece of meat...

Simple rules....

the bartering goes both ways. Simply write the review as you see fit. If she likes the review, she'll whitelist you. If not, she won't, but don't let it effect the review that you write. It's not worth one referral.

choose to reserve their whitelisting for clients that they have seen 2-3 times.

The only WL I recieved was a surprise.  Some might prefer to not reveal their TER user name...
A WL can be a supplement to screening...  a gentleman should never expect it will exempt him from it.
