with all due respect ... if there's ONE thing you should change about your typing it's not spelling (your meaning comes through just the same) it's your *punctuation* (or lack thereof)

i've noticed you (and some others) leave out periods/commas completely!  which makes sentences run into each other and generally makes for a hard read ... i would even dare to theorize that some of the misunderstandings you may have had with others on msg boards may in fact have been due to this

alright, i'm off my penmanship box ... for now!

Many people would like a spellcheck utility built into the TER board software. Until that happens, you may want to bookmark this free website. You have to copy and paste but hey, it's better than nothing.

I mentioned this free software on this board awhile ago.

You may also want to look at WordWeb, a free utility that you access via an icon in your Windows Tray. However, you can only spellcheck one word at a time.

Of course you could always just type your posts in word processor software and spell check that way. ;)

If I ever need my resume typed, I'm going to look around a bit before I contact you. ;)

am i the only one that rereads his posts to check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc?   maybe it's anal of me i dunno, but i regard all typing as the kind of typing i do for "work" -- you wanna make sure you're not misunderstood or confusing to others

though it's too much of a bother, folks who want to spell check should just have a Microsoft Word window up at all times and simply type their posts in there (and have it auto-checked/underlined) then simply cut-n-paste it into the TER text box

I've gotten better over the years but spelling still isn't my strong suite. If I plan to submit a long post, I write it in MSWord just for the spell checker. I use the WordWeb program that I suggested to flag individual words if I'm not sure.

Talk about re-reading posts, I often go back and edit my TER posts if I'm not crazy about the sentence structure and flow of the post. Who said a BA in English/Creative Writing is worthless? ;)

cut and paste text into an open message window of an e-mail client, like Outlook or Eudora, and then paste the spell corrected text back into the post?

typing with two fingers is the BEST and SMARTEST way to type! ... so right there you got the one-up on all of us!  LOL

it's true. take it from some one who is/was nearly crippled from many many years of typing they way they taught us (old-school)

and for the record i have no knowledge of your real occupation. i plead the 5th on that one
