why exactly is it that this oh-so-important, school-marmish and very bullshit post has to be done alias-style?

Huh, Mr Important Guy, why exactly IS that?

I hope DD doesn't mind me stepping on his turf here, but he's got a lot of territory to cover and I've volunteered to be the janitor here.

Just a few basic board etiquette points:

-- Don't be an ass.

-- CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE on your post.  Just DO it...be courteous.  There's nothing more annoying than clicking on someone's post who DIDN'T change the subject line, and see a post like "You go, Sheriff Taylor!"  That could easily fit in the subject line....

-- If your post only takes up the subject line, put EOM or eom at the end, so everyone knows that there is no further message in the body.  The second most annoying thing, is clicking a post and finding that the douchebag didn't have anything in the body.

-- Make sure that your post is placed properly, responding to the person you intend.  It's common to see people post a response to the wrong post, and it's also common to see my fellow retards---on provider Friday---post their favorite lady under another guy's Provider post.

-- Don't be an ass.

See, four simple rules.  Whoops.  Five.

Now I'll step aside while some of you, inevitably, will be asses.

I've made that mistake a few times.  Very embarrassing to read my own post the next morning.

I wonder how many of the self-distruct problems on this board a due to having a few drinks?

The subject line issue is so widespread that I don't pay that much mind. However, seeing people post comments under the wrong post is very annoying.

As a hobbyist, seeing someone tell me I have a nice ass when it was intended for the provider above me is retarded.

Your janitorial skills are unparalleled.

It would be a lot easier that way than if we do it the other way.
The other way is when I just don't allow posts that can't follow simple guidelines of courtesy.

Let's hope your gentle nudge is effective.

DD

But I have to agree a little board etiquette won't hurt.

Also for some people engaging their brain before posting would be a good idea to !!

But if your going to be an ass

please be as nice as this one !!!!

found you to be a good guy, and during the intel we've traded back & forth, that impression seemed accurate.  Hell, we even enjoyed a couple beers together, BS-ing about the hobby and our faves.  But your posts here tend to lean toward the more caustic side.

Really...WTF is the difference whether it's an alias or not?  The subject is actually almost comically vanilla.  Now, if I were here making some kind of bold statement or allegation, I can see why it would make a difference; with my "real alias" you'd know whether to lend me credibility or not.

But to piss & moan about something THIS benign?  Bub, there are a LOT better reasons out there to blow steam off than this.

Enjoy the day!
