Guilty or innocent? We will never know since he decided to kill himself rather than stand trial. In any event the folks who have posted here are expressing an opinion, nothing more and nothing less. None of us slit his wrists. We convicted him of nothing.
Good riddance. Scumbag.

You beat me to it AR, I hope he burns in hell.

I think every tax paying citizen of Massachusetts should throw a party! He was a waste of air, time, and a huge waste of any legal effort to try to save his ass. I wish they would have taken him off suicide watch months ago....get it over with and spend the tax dollars elsewhere.
May he burn in hell and ride all the way there with gasoline DRAWS ON!!!
I thought he pleaded not guilty?
Let me remind you this is America.

Not only was he on camera at an extremely incriminating time and location, IIRC, he had something from one of the women in his possession, right? Even if he didn't, the video footage was a lot of "stick a fork in him, he's done" type of evidence.
Plus, how often did he try to commit suicide? 3-4 times? If he truly was innocent and had done nothing wrong, then why do that? Yes, I imagine being jailed isn't much of a cakewalk; however, if you're innocent, you won't go that far unless you've been utterly framed and setup...
Or unless you're really guilty and your conscience is eating away at you.

He was 24 years old
I wonder if he was influenced by the violent movies or video games so readily available. Or the video game that kills hookers. It's just beyond my comprehension the tragedy of this story. So much pain. The heartaches of families. I hope escorts are screening and men are understanding why we must screen now. There are many of us with hearts of gold with good souls. We only do this job for a season then onwards to other things. We have love for others and zest for life. We are not trash or disposable.
Media has influenced this culture and there are no limitations to the violence shown on film and videogame and Internet. It will affect us. Some haven't the boundary to stop fantasy from creeping into their reality.
We have no idea what led him to do these horrible violent things. But we can at least control what we are influenced by and our families. Fathers, don't let your children play these violent video games or film. And be careful yourself also what you watch. Our eyes take it all in and we dream it in our sleep. And some are sick and it makes them recreate what they've observed. We are not born evil. And we can have good parents and upbringing. But what we have watched does influence our behaviour.
I don't want him to burn in hell. He was 24 so young. I don't want the son of 2 loving parents to burn in hell at all. I grieve over the beautiful sweet women he killed and her heart broken family. It's all so unbearable tragic!

So you're going with the Jack Thompson line of logic.
People need to stop blaming video games and movies for their children's behavior. If your line of reasoning held, everyone in western Europe would be a sex addict fiending constantly, due to the increased nudity and such on TV.
I grew up playing the same games as him, watching the same movies abd I haven't killed anyone. I haven't even gotten into a fight in years. I'm the same age as him btw
While some can stop the morph of fantasy seeping into reality and then action, there are some who lack this brain boundary. You can not assume that the same chemicals that surge thru your brain are at the same balance of the persons sitting beside you on the train. Just like I've gone and bought a yoga instructional manual, a person can learn from these violent games and films. Even a person who does have their chemicals in order, will still have those images flash thru their dreams and at unusual moments while they are awake. There's been a list made of video games deemed the most graphic in violence and gore and parents have been warned to monitor what their children play.

I agree the situation is a lose-lose on all sides; however that's all I agree with per se. I read both responses to this post (including your other one), but I'm replying to this in general
I've spent several years in school studying neuroscience and psychology and my focus was on behavior and worked specifically in that field with kids for little over a year. That's not counting the time I spent working in the public school system and private group homes for the mentally ill.
Bottom line is that it's combination of everything: that's what I've taken away from my years of schooling and experience. Who knows if he was influenced in any way, shape or form by violence in the media, and I doubt we'll ever know; however, it's really not the cause for anything. The catalyst possibly, but nowhere near the cause. One has to look at the person's upbringing along with the biology of the person's brain. Sure there are chemical imbalances in the brain for some, but that's actually relatively more common than you think. In fact, you couple that with the person's upbringing (in general, the person's environment), and you get the personalities you do. He was in med school, had money and may have felt he had the power. Who knows if he had seen abuse as a child or perhaps even seen his father treat women poorly, or even his parents treat others different from them like trash. There's never a singular cause.
What people don't realize is that violence and sex are rooted in human behavior and one could even go as far as calling it instinct. It's instinct because evolution had us on the path of survival of the fittest. Reproduce as much as possible and kill those that prevent you from doing so. I am clearly over-generalizing here and even over-exaggerating, but my point is: violence and sex have been around since the beginning of human history. Just because it is presented in a different medium doesn't make it any worse per se, just different. Should a 10 year old be playing say, Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto? It really depends, and that's where it goes back to upbringing. Just because the games look a lot more realistic, doesn't make it any worse than the games of the past even it was all more pixel-ish and such. Did playing Double Dragon make me more violent when I was growing up? Not at all because my upbringing told me, what I was doing was fake; however, consequences were a whole lot worse. Me killing somebody in a game is totally different than somebody killing somebody else in reality. It's just that many parents fail to make that distinction, thinking that the kids will figure it out. Stupid assumption on those parents' part, in my opinion.
Looking at upbringing like I mentioned prior, like I said, he could have been abused, witnessed abuse, could have seen his parents treat each other or others like trash, etc. So many little instances combine and mold who he became: one who treated women who were providers like scum or as if they were beneath him, not like normal human beings like he should have. His parents suffer for his actions, but who knows if they unconsciously have themselves to blame.
I could go on and on, but I just wanted to throw in my opinion into the pot. It's getting late and I have a movie to catch (second time seeing Inception, y'all should go see if you haven't).
Just my two cents...keep the change.
It's facinating all you said. I always prefer digging into an underlying cause as to what brought a person to a certain point. You are right. It's a combination of things. After even analyzing myself, I can pinpoint the main circumstances that influenced my decision to be an escort. Yes, parents also are part of my decision, as well as relationships and my need for mathamatical balance or yin/yang. Well i understand myself anyway lol. I also know I will be moving past this phase into another phase non adult industry related. It would be an absolute pity if along a womens path, and her temporary crossing of this escort road she's crossing, about to get to the other side where grass is greener.... Oh it's tragic this story!
I rarely give my opinion. I do analize everything tho. If I was asked to give my opinion, I will say he did not kill himself because of guilt. I feel he had the urge to strike and he was the only victim who was obtainable in that instance.
I'm really glad you posted what you did. It's nice to have the opinions of professionals who've experience In these areas
This should really be a learning experience for providers that screening is a must no matter what.this guy had his own fiance fooled.I read all the post about this guy and do have my own opinions which i will keep to myself due to the negative feed back i will get.we all need to take responsibility for our actions and not blame products, upbringing or society itself. He killed himself not for self pitty or guilt he did it so everyone he was associated with can suffer and they will suffer with the question in the back of thier minds where did we go wrong or how come i did not see this coming.instead of being a man and take resonsibilty for his own actions he took the cowardly way out.the only tragedy here is the young woman that was killed.
No, he was a psychopath. They are almost always born that way not made. They are people who are unable to feel emotion towards another person. The more intelligent ones can do a great job faking their way throughout life pretending to be normal but in reality they will never be able to feel any human connection whatsoever. It's almost impossible for the 99% of us who have a conscience to understand. It's unfortunate, but they are out there and they can not be treated or cured (at least today). He was likely this way since he was a baby and it's been pointed that those who knew him thought he was slightly off.
