All floors or Some floors?

Are you sure that the elevators you are thinking of provide access to ALL floors or just provide access to "public" areas: convention and meeting rooms, bars, restaurants, offices, shopping areas ...?

I have noticed recently in a couple of other cities that the hotels that I was staying in had the deal with having to used your hotel card key to use the elevators. Is that starting to become the norm in Boston too or no?

Hotels are routinely held liable when guests are attacked in their rooms. Card keys have become a method to restrict access  & improve security. It's a pain to deal with.

yes, but for some reason there's always 1 elevator that allows people to go up and down without a card. I know the location of  these magical elevators in a couple of the back bay hotels..

I think the Marriott Copley Place does?

I notice that being the norm in bigger, higher end hotels.

avoid seeing anyone in downtown Boston.. There are a ton of great choices around 128.. 495.. and no parking to deal with.. much better..

Agreed

I go to the city but alway look local first.

Traffic and paying ridiculous parking fees adds to
The already outrageous donation requests to cover their expenses.

Parking cost is outrageous. . Donation required is whatever it is..and I say yes or I say no..

You're ignoring people in Boston who don't have cars along with business travelers. But more importantly those suburbs are being raided all the time and it's a lot more difficult to blend in.

No ignoring.. just expressing a preference is all.. I have a car... I'm not a business traveler.. each to is or her own..

Wouldn't most business travelers just do an outcall? I know most of my requests have been outcalls to hotels for business travelers.
