I lived in CA for a while back in the early 2000's and they imposed a similar law on not only masseuses, but psychics too. Just trying to make additional revenue, I'd say. Shortcut to taxing the industry.
that our Mass legislature (Having nothing better to do with its time.) has just passed and sent to the gov a bill making it a crime to refer to ones self* as a masseur or masseuse in any form of medium be it print or electronic and it would even cover blogs! (Which would seem to be a clear violation of the First Amendment, but whatever.)
So gals, be sure to only refer to body rubs and such and not massage in your advertisements lest you allow LE another means to bust you.
*unless of course you do hold a massage license, but then that opens another whole can of worms, doesn't it?
