I have to change doctors as mine is moving.

Should I tell my Dr. I do this? Do you?

Your thoughts if any?

I actually had a check up this morning with my Obgyn and its so much easier to speak freely than have to play wordsmith.

I'm a single guy who is not in a monogamous relationship. That's all any medical professional needs to know about my private life.

And I had a 'problem' down there.

You do not need to walk in and tell them you see several different escorts a month. You do need to be honest and tell them that you have multiple partners and need full battery STD testing on a regular basis to protect yourself and your partners. This includes a throat swab and cultures as well as HIV testing, and a full Hep panel. If you are not vaccinated against Hep A&B you should start the series. Especially as a frequent player.

If you are not comfortable divulging this information to your new primary there should be multiple anonymous facilities for STD testing in your area. The charges vary it just depends on whether you mind it showing up on your insurance or not.

Being tested regularly is part of good sexual health. We take care of all other aspects of our health so make sure you don't neglect this area. It is each individual's responsibility to do so if they like to play outside of a monogamous situation. I prefer to get full battery testing quarterly. It's a breeze and there are no worries when it becomes part of your routine.

As Grace said there are plenty of places to go, as far as I know this is the best one:

http://www2.massgeneral.org/id/clinical_practice/std_clinic/

Also you don't have to use your insurance with them if you don't want to, you can just make a donation to the clinic.
Also they have a 20min HIV test, no more waiting 2 weeks for an answer.

This way your regular doctor doesn't ever need to know about your hobbying life.

Now go out there and get tested, then go have some fun !!!!

You should not feel uncomfortable to be seen in the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic at MGH. This program shares the 5th floor of Cox building with the The Travelers' Advice and Immunization Center, and the Tropical Medicine treatment & care center. Just tell everyone you are traveling on an exotic vacation. Same registration room, same waiting room!

Like Erica said, it makes discussing any concerns so much easier than beating around the bush.
I'm more embarrassed telling a new doctor that I smoke than that I hobby. Though hopefully that won't be for much longer (the smoking)

The fact that you are an escort or see escorts will be in your medical record forever, for future wives, family members, insurance companies, etc... to see forever.  I use 3 different doctors and 1 free clinic to get tested so nothing looks shady for getting tested so often.

If you do contract something, by all means, speak up then if you'd like, but as long as you're safe and clean, keep it to yourself. It has no bearing on your health, unless, as I said, you actually contract something.  They don't do anything special if you're high risk, other than offer more frequent and complete testing, which you should be doing anyway.

Just my opinion as an ex medical professional.
