A Provider's version of Priceline?

I was looking at Priceline.com's business model and it got me to thinking... what would be the feasibility of a provider's version of this?

All too often we see posts from providers saying they have plenty of available appointments.  Like a hotel room, if these appointments go unfilled, they lose those potential earnings.  What if something was set up so that clients could "bid" on these available appointments, and get them at a lower rate than pre-booked appointments?  Like priceline, however, the client could only specify a time-block for the appt (as opposed to a specific time) in exchange for the lower rate, or the identity of the provider wouldn't be revealed until the meeting, etc...  The client would bid based on reviews/ratings, like hotels are rated by stars.  Ladies, I'm not comparing you to hotels so please don't take offense to this; I'm just referring to a business model.

I suppose the most important question is whether providers be willing to fill their open appointments at a lower rate.  I've spoken to a few ladies with differing opinions.  Your thoughts?

While I understand the idea, and some providers might go for this, I tend to think some would be insulted by the thought.

Keeping in mind, you average person is making 200-300/hr on the low end, I don't think there too worried about "down time". But I could be wrong, will be interesting to hear what the providers have to say.

Are you nuts?  A decent provider would never lower herself to that and the only ones you would end up with wouldn't be worth seeing  for free.   I dont use priceline for anything.

I beg to differ.  A few ladies I've spoken to said it would be worth exploring as long as the clients were pre-screened.  Also, I've used priceline for hotels and car rental and have never had a problem.

who would, then go for it. I seriously doubt you would get a wide selection of women who would join.

also there would be issues in not being able to verify that client at the last moment either.

I use Priceline a LOT for hotel rooms.  It's absolutely wonderful!!  You can get unbelievable deals on rooms by picking a star level and a location.

But I choose ladies quite differently than I choose hotel rooms.  Or maybe I just like to delude myself into thinking that I do.  I think I would have a hard time choosing a lady by "star level" and location (or by any set of objective criteria).  I prefer to know something about the specific lady I'm going to see.  It's just part of the fantasy for me...

Have fun, MG

I think for the all-out bargain-hunters, the priceline idea could suit them but, as others have said, 2 main issues -

** How many ladies would really do this, and would they be the kind of ladies most guys would want to see?  How would this work with Agency girls?  How would the men be pre-screened?

** Many guys, at least the ones here, are selective and don't want to go into a situation blind just because he got the best price or the most available or both.

If the idea for this service offered pre-screening, with points assigned to ladies seen, time spent, basically quality ratings for the guys in the kind of way we find here (ladies rate the guys!), more of the upscale and quality ladies might find an interest in this.  But still, in a blind match system a guy going in would want to know that he'll have at least a reasonable chance of liking the lady he ends up seeing - I don't mean stars I mean his "type".  What would help in that regard is a system like Amazon.com "people who liked this girl, also saw these girls" and the system could more automatically match the "best fit" of client and provider.  So for example if a guy saw girls A B and C then a guy who saw girl B might also like girls A and C.  Not that simple and straighforward, but possible.  TER's own database could do this, at least for the guys who've submitted reviews.

I personally wouldn't mind the girls rating me ;-)
