1. expensive parking at hotels or no parking on street 2. our streets don't make sense 3. people can't drive here and will almost likely hit you 4. boston's small you can walk it or take the t (train)
One is the Back Bay, it's the priciest, but most gals tend to go there. There are a lot of hotel options to choose from, the Copley Plaza Mall, and many fine restaurants.
The second choice is the Water Front near the North End and the Aquarium. The Faneuil Hall market place is right near by with lots of shopping and eating, and the North End has many wonderful Italian restaurants to choose from.
In the warmer months, it is also a very nice place to hang out and see the ocean, etc.
Please keep us posted on when you might be coming to town. You've been on my bucket list for a while.
Boston is a great place to visit, especially in the springtime, and it is quite navigable by foot. You can also expect a very warm reception from the Boston guys.
1. You will definitely not need a car if you stay in the Back Bay or downtown areas
2. Back Bay has a great selection of hotels, restaurants and shops
3. I'll meet you anywhere you decide to stay within a 100 mile radius of the city (LOL), but I think Back Bay is probably your best option.
Please feel free to PM if you need more specifics.
Hope you decide to visit. What can we do to persuade you?
And...as was noted a car is not necessary - that's one of the best things about Boston, whether you are near the Quincy Market or in Back Bay. It's a delight to walk around town and the freedom trail is literally highlighted with a red line on the sidewalk.
Both areas are great but perhaps Back Bay has the better, less touristy restaurant selection. I am particularly fond of Tapeo, a Spanish restaurant on Newbury. They have a generous happy hour with gorgeous small plate options.
As a girl, you also might appreciate Back Bay's preponderance of nail and hair salons, excellent shopping and lively environment.
Also, if you appreciate a little quiet time for reading, the Boston Public Library is a gorgeous place to lose yourself in a book. Beautiful murals, a hushed, studious atmosphere, and of course the free wifi doesn't hurt when you need to keep up with emails mid-novel.
Whatever you decide, have a blast! Boston is one of my favorite cities and I have no doubt you'll feel the same after your visit.
XOXO Nicole P.S. Feel free to pm or email me re: specific hotel info.
